I have a Prince Synergy with an oversuze head the head is 110 sq. I really don't like prince but my coach gave it to me. I really like Wilson. But what Wilson power rackets work best. I heard Serena's Gypsy rose was good, but its 300 freakin dollars.

What racket do you guys use is it a power racket etc.?

I use Wilson nBlade 98' with Babolat VS Team natural gut strings for the crosses and Babolat Hurricane for the mains - strung at 60lbs. It's a great blend of power and control. I love it. But if you're looking for solely power, the Wilson n5 (98' or 110') is a great buy.

Okay my my friend has a 120in head and hits big balls but said the racket lacks control etc. My racket is strung a 63lbs. Are big heads a good thing? I have a big head on my racket but not as big.

Well bigger head size means more power. Smaller means more control. If you can generate your own pace, i would suggest getting a racket with a smaller head size so you can control your shots.

I always use Wilson rackets, I have a few different kinds of Wilson Racket, I've got the Wilson racket, the kind of Venus used at Wimbly 2005, same colour also Ncode. I've got the same kind of hammer racket Serena used during Wimbledon 2002 until YEC 2004. I've got the hammer racket of Henin and Davenport , that orange/black racket. And a few more.

I use the Wilson nSix-One 95 (16x18), strung with natural gut for the mains, and polyester strings for the crosses. It's quite a control-orientated racquet.

I prefer something with a thinner beam. So I use the Prince O3 Tour (100in). I love it because it's actually heavier than the Wilson NTour 95, so it's sturdier, but I can get a lot more racket head speed because of the holes in the frame. The holes actually enlarge the sweet spot as well. the open string pattern also gives me a lot of heavy topspin. The balance is nice for me because it's really easy to maneuver at the net. I don't get much pop on the serve, but I can kick it nicely.

I don't really like gigantic head sizes and thick power rackets. It doesn't suit my game well at all. 100 square inch is as big as I'm gonna use.

I use a Prince Turbo Shark MidPlus strung at like 50lbs.

(Let the record show that while it's TOB's old racket, it's Lena D.'s current string tension).

It's got good pop without sacrificing too much control, and it's like serving with a cannon. My only complaints are that I had to overgrip the hell out of it to fit my hand and I'm having to take a little off my volleys. My backhands are either hit with a ton of slice or tons and tons and tons of slice, and this racket helps my slices go deeper and harder than my old Dunlap.

I playtested a number of Wilson and Head rackets as well as a couple newer Prince models, and this is the one for me. At least for now. I tend to play my rackets to death, so it may be awhile before I try one of the "O" models.

How does that Wilson Hammer work, The one Serena used? I heard it was good I really really want one badly.

I used to use it when i was playing u/14's competitvely around australia for a yr, and the year i used it was probably the best yr i ever had. tennis wise..the volleys were so crisp and serve, top spin was perfect...a rly rly good racket.

now that im getting back into tennis, im using the babolat aeropro drive cortex rackets.. and i absolutely love it..

I'm thinking of getting the WILSON ntour 95. Has anybody had any experienced with this one that they could share to me before I buy it? Is the 95" head too small for a beginner? I really don't like those Over Size ones (110 and up) with a thicker beam. Thanks!

I'm currently using the N6 Wilson, i like it but i don't like the shpae of the head, for some reason it puts me off a little, i was using Serena's Hyper Hammer, she used in 2004, loved it, but i smashed it in fit of rage. Before that i was going through a Dunlop stage with 4 Dunlop racquets, including James Blake's old model and Amelié Mauresmo's before she switched (not the aero gel the one before she was using for ages). I have also used Slazenger, Fischer etc, my favourite has to be Wilson.

I would have to say that i would avoid the 95 inch head and look for something in and around 100 - 105, that would be better for me, but it's your decision. :wavey:

the most popular in our academy is WILSON. So many people are playing Wilson rackets. For example, Tommy Peric he is 400 ATP. He is using racket of Federer. Everybody started to play with new models.

Other racket, which I'm using and some other people, is babolat (official racket of Andy Roddick). I like this racket pretty much. Its 315grams and I use strings Pro Hurricane. I'm the one who play that racket. Other players prefer 300 grams Babolat.( new model).

I can tell u difference: Wilson racket has much control and babolat - more powerful racket with a little control. Its more easy to serve with this racket.

Other racket is Head. Now in academy some players play Head prestige flexpoint. And some people started to try new racket of Head (Ljubicic and other players are using this racket).

All players have the style for rackets. For example, if you are a baseliner player. I think Tecnifiber,Head, babolat, Prince (aero) is really good rackets for baseline. If you are a player who use more power. Its good to use babolat, yonex, head and some models of Wilson. If u are more control player, you prefer playing on baseline, do passing shots and sometimes go to the net. Wilson, prince and maybe Yonex.

I use the Ntour Two 95 strung with Babolat Pro Hurricane and XCel Premium at 55 pounds. I hit with a lot of power, so this racquet provides me with the control that I need. I swtiched from the N4 because I felt that it was a little too powerful. My serve is awesome now; I can hit with power or with spin and get a good serve in. My groundstrokes have a lot more control, although right now I'm not playing that great lol! But my forehand and backhand are okay at the moment. If I was hitting the ball better I could give a better review. I don't get to play that often, so it's really hit and miss. But overall, it's a good stick. The spin is terrific; topspin and slice shots have plenty of bite. I would recommend this one to a power player looking for control and spin. :yeah:

I use the Babolat Pure Drive that Kim Clijsters and Andy Roddick use. Its a great racket for power players and for players who are looking to get more power. Definitly less control than other rackets though.

I used to use Head Liquidmetal Radical...it was pretty good, but didn't suit me so much. Now, I'm switching over to Wilson nTour. It reminds me of my old racket (H Tour), and I was looking all over the place for it. I remember Davy, Henin, and Ivanovic used to use this racket before they moved on to the other models. I play tennis like a 16 male version of Ivanovic as well, so...
