I just read on tennis.com that Venus and Serena accepted a wildcard entry for doubles...this is great news from the Williams camp...

hmm..........I don't believe it. If Vee chooses to any play doubles at Wimbledon this year, it will be the mixed doubles.

 I still don't believe it. Vee should play mixed instead. Maybe herself and Bob could go one step further this year and take the title.

I think it is true, I remember Serena saying I think during the french when asked about Venus's 206 serve, she replied something like well with a serve like that she will have to be my partner in doubles for wimbledon or something, basically she mentioned her & venus doubles wimbledon lol

woo hooo!! i hope they televise this.
But really this means nothing if Serena doesn't win Wimbledon like she is favored to do. I don't want another 2006 (i.e. Venus favored to win Wimbledon and loses to Venus lite).

Go both, every time they have won Wimbledon Doubles one of them has also won the singles. I sense a Williams Wimbledon in the old fashioned sense coming on  :bounce:

well they have to be on opposite sides of the draw. And i'm not sure about Venus. But I think this is another great move by Serena. She hasn't played on grass since 2005 and even though she's more comfortable and natural on the grass the extra court time she gets by playing doubles will be invaluable.

YES!!! I honestly didn't know if this day would ever come; I'm so excited! I think this really shows how much the sisters want to get back to the top of the game. Doubles is going to help both of their games. When the sisters were playing doubles more often, they were also winning tournaments more often!
