Dexter Jun 9th, 2007, 02:37 PM What the threadtitle says! :bounce: azdaja Jun 9th, 2007, 02:45 PM i wanted to start this thread  :o anyway, what dexter said :p DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 9th, 2007, 03:58 PM Grass is of course very different than clay, but my believe in her is still the same. Let Rosmalen and Wimbledon be nice results as well! AJDE ANA!!!!!! Joshualdo Jun 9th, 2007, 04:08 PM Gas (her performance as a measurement in fuel), Grass (the surface), or Ass (must I explain?) or something. :haha: kinseh Jun 9th, 2007, 05:20 PM I was hoping that Ana would play Eastbourne instead of 's-Hertogenbosch, but it will also be a great warm-up for her. :D Entry list: Jelena Jankovic (she is everywhere :p), Dinara Safina, Anna Chakvetadze, Daniela Hantuchova, Katarina Srebotnik, Francesca Schiavone, Alona Bondarenko, Anabel Medina Garrigues, Gisela Dulko, Michaella Krajicek and so on. GO ANA! :bounce: ezekiel Jun 9th, 2007, 06:42 PM At this point I am looking forward to grass and Ana has had a great clay season but hopefully she gets over this final and doesn't revert to bad Ana of the past . She certainly has the game to win on grass G~Playa Jun 9th, 2007, 10:50 PM Lets see her step her game up in grass.. jonnyroyale_13 Jun 9th, 2007, 11:59 PM Too bad there isnt converted olympic swimming pool season..serbs would rule..but good luck on grass dybbuk Jun 10th, 2007, 04:13 AM Time to transfer the good form onto grass  She has the ability to make a nice run. Ajde Ana! :rocker2: Ben. Jun 10th, 2007, 06:02 AM C'mon Ana :D you have the game to do some damage on the grass :yeah: DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 12th, 2007, 04:52 PM From www.anaivanovic.com Two announcements! / June 12, 2007 It’s been an amazing couple of days. I left Paris on Sunday evening. On the aeroplane the crew were very kind, they did a presentation with champagne and they also gave us a cake. I don’t often drink alcohol but obviously this was a special occasion. Still, I didn’t drink too much in case I got drunk before we landed in Belgrade! There was an unbelievable celebration outside the City Hall. I think there were around 10,000 people greeting me, Novak and Jelena. It was definitely an emotional time and very enjoyable. :) I want to thank everyone who came on Sunday and also to everyone who supported me at the French Open. Seeing how much our achievements mean to the people gives me even more motivation to train hard. I’m having another day off today but I will be back on the courts on Wednesday preparing for my next tournament in Holland. I have two announcements to make. First of all, I will be playing in the Fed Cup against the Slovak Republic after Wimbledon. It was an easy decision to make! I only missed one tie because it didn’t fit my schedule, and now that I did so well in Paris I think it’s clear I made the right decision – the girls won without me in April anyway. I am excited because I think Jelena and I have a great chance of doing very well in the team competition. We want so much to reach the World Group. The other thing is that I’m going to be playing less doubles. I had planned to play some tournaments with Maria Kirilenko but now I decided that I need to focus more on singles. Doubles is great fun, but it can cause problems for singles, especially when there is a rain delay, or you need extra recovery time. The worst thing would be if I had to withdraw from the doubles competition during a Grand Slam, because I was tired and needed to rest for singles – I would feel very bad, letting down a partner like that. Actually I would play anyway out of obligation, and that would not be a good situation. So I decided it was best not to commit to anything. Maria and I are good friends and she also thinks it’s a good decision. Love Ana I'm not really sad about the doubles. As long as it doesn't effect her volley's ;) And playing Fed Cup isn't bad either. Oh wait! Playing Fed Cup? bokash said her ranking will improve then :p Anyway, AJDE ANA!!!!!!! Dexter Jun 12th, 2007, 04:58 PM First thing that came to my mind when I read it on Ana's website was bokash! :haha: DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 12th, 2007, 10:29 PM Im back, Ana confirmed playing Fed Cup. Did anything interesting happened in recent weeks? Was i missed? No, that's about it. Maybe this. H2H's. Against Medina is goes from 0-1 to 1-1. Same with Arvidsson. Sharapova 1-1 to 2-1. And Kuznetsova from 1-1 to 3-1 in a few weeks. Neptune Jun 13th, 2007, 12:10 PM Let's see how it works on grass :p kinseh Jun 13th, 2007, 01:44 PM From www.anaivanovic.com Oh wait! Playing Fed Cup? bokash said her ranking will improve then :p Her ranking will improve because of Fed Cup? :p Anyway, I'm happy she'll play. :) Dexter Jun 13th, 2007, 04:20 PM Ana committed to play doubles with Daniela @ SW19. What was this talk yesterday on her website about then? DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 13th, 2007, 04:49 PM Ana committed to play doubles with Daniela @ SW19. What was this talk yesterday on her website about then? Strange indeed. If it's true then I should guess that it's only for Wimbledon. For sure there'll be a good explaination for it. Dexter Jun 13th, 2007, 04:54 PM Maybe Danka committed this team w/o letting Ana know or sthg. We know they know each other well, so maybe some time ago they planned to play together and maybe Ana forgot or sthg... Oh well, I've got no clue. DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 13th, 2007, 05:51 PM Thinking about it again. It must be a mistake. My guess is no doubles for Ana. Cause if you want to focus more on singles then you won't play doubles in a slam. Cp6uja Jun 13th, 2007, 06:32 PM Maybe it's her last doubles in career and she want to retire of doubles competition with title??? With Dani if they bouth playing seriuosly that will be easy job... Lunaris Jun 13th, 2007, 09:26 PM Seeing your discussion guys, I will add something. Daniela has been saying that she would concentrate on singles since start of this season - this is the reason of her split with Sugiyama who takes doubles very seriously. Well, Daniela always considered herself mainly as a singles player but I don't remember her talking about "concentrating on singles" before. btw. I am still not sure whether I realize the exact meaning of this term and what it takes to be fully concentrated. Anyway, Daniela plays doubles for one particular reason and that is "having fun". Every victory is just a bonus - "we'll go there, play and see what will happen". This approach to doubles she shares with Hingis, hence they played together in Miami and probably would've been playing in London, hadn't been Martina doubtful (and likely not willing to risk any complication with the injury in doubles matches). I guess Ana is a similar case and doubles will be rather practice matches for her in the future. That is if she really plays at Wimby with Daniela. If she wrote on her website something that goes in opposite way of what I think, then just ignore this post. Obviously I don't visit her website. Dexter Jun 13th, 2007, 09:36 PM That's how I see it as well, Martin. Even though Ana has never written it directly, she takes doubles not so seriously as well IMHO. There's always talk about improving netskills and so on, which is actually true. It's always good to do it in a competitve match, when actually result doesn't mean anything. So I guess Ana is taking it as Danka, doubles are for fun... Which is not so bad attitude for Top10 players (Danka will be there by the Wimbledon time too. :p ). I guess Masza K wants to stay more serious with doubles and that's why they decided to split. Lunaris Jun 13th, 2007, 09:56 PM And of course Daniela is such a lovely person that everyone wanna play doubles with her. :p btw. It's interesting to see reactions of Ana fans and Daniela fans. Most Daniela fans are excited about this pairing, while many Ana fans are like wtf?. Dexter Jun 13th, 2007, 09:58 PM And of course Daniela is such a lovely person that everyone wanna play doubles with her. :p btw. It's interesting to see reactions of Ana fans and Daniela fans. Most Daniela fans are excited about this pairing, while many Ana fans are like wtf?. :lol:That pretty much sums up the discussion who is the better player! Lunaris Jun 13th, 2007, 10:18 PM Or maybe Ana fans are surprised why Ana continues to play doubles after reading that recent text on her website. DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 14th, 2007, 04:15 PM Ana is playing San Diego for sure now. (not surprising of course). I guess it's her first tournament after Wimbledon. Dexter Jun 14th, 2007, 04:17 PM Ana is playing San Diego for sure now. (not surprising of course). It was actually easier if I had checked the Stanford thread first  Maybe she skips L.A. now. Otherwise it will be 4 weeks in a row. Stanford, San Diego, week off, Toronto, week off, US Open seems like a good schedule. We don't want her to pull Jelena, do we? ;) I'm quite calm about Luxembourg. I think her indoor season will be sthg like: Luxembourg, Stuttgart, week off, Zurich & Linz... although I'd prefer her to play Moscow instead of Stuttgart since it's a Tier I. Antwerp isn't even scheduled for 2009. They say it even can become an invitation tournament. DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 16th, 2007, 03:49 PM Draw 1st Bye 2nd Bremond/Daniilidou QF Hantuchova SF Chakvetadze F Jankovic Dexter Jun 16th, 2007, 03:54 PM Tough draw, just what I wanted... Go for it, Ana!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 16th, 2007, 04:36 PM Draw couldn't be tougher I would say. For a long time I wanted Ana to play Eleni and Daniela. She never played them before and now she can play them both! But then I guess that Bremond will win and Daniela won't reach the quarters. Anyway, AJDE ANA!!!!!!!!!! Natalicious Jun 16th, 2007, 04:43 PM good luck on grass ana :rocker2: Neptune Jun 16th, 2007, 04:46 PM Not Easy but I want to see how she's after her final in Paris.A big result can make her stronger or, on the contrary, she could have some troubles to come back on the court after that. It's never easy because she'll have pressure on her shoulder.Let's see how she copes whit it. Same as in Antwerp. After all that time Ana never played Kim. I was there, and yes she played Kim. Let this be true as well! I haven''t seen Ana at practise. Hopefully she will practise before her match tomorrow. (I guess so). Now the tournament is really starting for me. Center Court - aanvang vanaf 11:00 Dinara Safina (RUS) tegen Camille Pin (FRA) Ernests Gulbis (LET) tegen Guillermo Canas (ARG) Eleni Daniilidou (GRE) tegen Ana Ivanovic (SCG) They are changing it a lot. 3rd match it is. Good luck against Danka :bounce: DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 20th, 2007, 12:10 AM Ana started with a break, but then she was broken back already. That wasn't needed. After that Ana didn't had any trouble on her serve, but she didn't play well either. Not many winners. She also kinda had a service like she had against Henin at 1-0 40-15. In games 8th, 9 it kinda looked that Ana wasn't so sure. She didn't play the balls deep and there were too many mistakes. When she was 6-5 behind she finally started serving. Aces were coming and the tiebreak was 7-4. Ana made a break in the 2nd game. Ana started serving better and better with totally 9 aces. At 7-6 5-2 0-30, Ana produced 3 awesome return winners. Just at the time I was making pictures. For a first match on grass it wasn't bad. Of course she needs more to go further in the tournament. Like always I believe she can do it. And will it be Hantuchova now for the first time? AJDE ANA!!!!! xcrtbckhnd Jun 20th, 2007, 12:47 AM GL next round ANA!!!! Can't believe that she's never played Daniela! This should be good!!! Same as in Antwerp. After all that time Ana never played Kim. I was there, and yes she played Kim. Let this be true as well! Well, what did I say!!! The bad thing is that Ana plays as last on CC. And it probably will rain tomorrow, so I'm not sure if she can play. Today I heard she had a sign session but I missed it. After 1st set of Hantuchova I went to practise court. Just at that time I saw Ana. She went to the practise courts as well! So I saw the whole training. It looked really relaxt and of course for me it was nice to watch. She really seems to be the most popular girl out there (together with Misa). Around 30 people watched her training. After that Chakvetadze came there. EVERYBODY just left. It's so easy to get a pic or autograph of Anna. The same with Jelena. It seems that not many people care about her. dybbuk Jun 20th, 2007, 11:10 PM Well, what did I say!!! She is still young so time is on her side Let me tell you this. I actually shouldn't write anything now. Better leave it alone. But here I am to post my thoughts. It really hurted me that Ana lost. I'm not even sure if I go tomorrow. I still have tickets for the last 2 days. And about the match. Ana started fine and had chances to break. At 3-3 I said this is not gonna be Federer - Nadal, if you don't take your BP's........then you get broken. If you look at the result you probably will think that Ana played bad and that it's maybe the surface. I never have seen Daniela playing like this. She made rarely mistakes and had like everything back. She played completely awesome and I don't know where that come from. It wasn't that good in the first 2 rounds. And probably she won't reach this level tomorrow. Also too bad there wasn't hawk eye. Ana was very upset about 2 calls in game 4. "The ball landed RIGHT THERE, aren't you watching?" Now I don't know if fanship is made for me, cause maybe it can take too much. Joana Jun 22nd, 2007, 01:19 AM Well, we must still expect stuff like this to happen once in a while. DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 23rd, 2007, 10:39 PM Uhm, I don't want to sound too negative about Wimbledon but: In other news French Open finalist Ana Ivanovic has withdrawn from the Bank of the West Classic. "Unfortunately I've had to withdraw from the Bank of the West Classic," said Ivanovic. "The French Open, which was my first ever Grand Slam final, really took a lot out of me and already I feel like I need a rest, both physically and mentally. I am going to do my best to get through the grass court season and then I have commitments to play Fed Cup after Wimbledon. Then I really need to rest." She added, "I'm disappointed that I am unable to play the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford. I heard it's a great tournament and I was looking forward to playing there for the first time. I'm sorry to the tournament organizers and also to the fans. Hopefully I will see everyone there in the future." I’ll fly to London as soon as this tournament is over. I feel a little bit tired already, but I’m sure I can get through the next two tournaments. :scared:  azdaja Jun 24th, 2007, 06:18 PM i don't like this :( BuTtErFrEnA Jun 25th, 2007, 03:20 AM well she will need to get through her first rounds easily so that they days off will be beneficial to her xcrtbckhnd Jun 25th, 2007, 04:27 AM Wow, tired already! I don't get that at all. If ATP matches have to finish first then why the Women final is Saturday and Men on Sunday? Is it just only cause they play more sets? It was more reasonable that Ana's match would be finished now then this match. Dexter Jun 26th, 2007, 06:36 PM Yes it is because men have to play at least 3 sets. Imagine some ATP guys having to play 5-setter one day and the next one as well. It takes less to regroup for women from tough 3 sets and they can play 2 days in a row. It's tougher for guys. And yes, I'd prefer Ana to play tonight again but we can't do anything about it. gillibean Jun 26th, 2007, 08:39 PM i was there sitting down - front row seat straight after the grosjean match and then monfils came on the court and everyone around me started looking at their order of play..devastating! ana will play tomorrow! The second set was tight because Czink was getting more serves in and was playing a much more attacking game, but Ana never really looked too challenged on her own serve. She was a little slow in her movement and I'd say just a little late hitting her returns. But overall she was hitting her shots pretty sweetly, and her slice backhand looked a lot better at times. And she, of course, looked lovely :) Langers Jun 27th, 2007, 03:07 PM She was serving pretty well. Dexter Jun 27th, 2007, 05:13 PM http://i14.tinypic.com/4lxgrdh.jpg Dexter Jun 27th, 2007, 05:56 PM I f*ckin' love DSF for once. :hearts: They're showing 2nd set of Ana's match. I'll write about it afterwards. Dexter Jun 27th, 2007, 06:32 PM Ana started after the rain-break on fire, 2 great BH winners to get the break back. First was a clever DTL passing shot the next one was a bullet like CC winner. She served really well in this set. A couple of aces and also lots of unreturnables. But she didn't try her hardest during Czink's service games. And credit to Hungarian who reallly gave her best in this set. Though whenever Ana was aggressive she won the point as easy as that. The best game was at *4-4... Molina who was umpring (the same f*cktard, who destroyed Jelena's US Open SF... well, she kind of destroyed herself too, but he was the part of it), who is becoming my least favourite umpire (even though he's sooooo in my type :o), didn't overrule a ball which was obviously out and Ana started to argue with him, which was totally cute.  On the next point he overruled the ball, and again he was wrong! :tape: Ana gave him that glare and fired her 6th ace in the next point.  Next point was the best rally of the set, won by Czink with a stunning BH DTL winner after a really powerful Ana's FH. Well done! But Ana fired 7th ace in the next pt and 2 unreturnable serves to win the game. Next games weren't that special, both holding comfortably (Ana held for 6-5* with 8th ace). Ana had a MP at 6-5* after Czink's error, but Melinda saved it with a brave FH DTL which was too good for Ana. Melinda hit a BH DTL winner & FH CC winner to take the match into the TB. She was really giving her best today. TB: 1-0* - service winner. 1-1* - defensive BH slice just wide. *2-1 - stop volley just wide. *3-1 - service winner. 3-2* - good dictating play by Melinda after aggresive FH return. 4-2* - FH DTL too strong. *4-3 - poor Ana on the run from side to side, FH into the net at the end. *5-3 - good serve, FH winner. 6-3* - good pt Ana, Melinda forced to make an error. FH long. Ana wins. ;) Gorgeous smile as always at the end. Ever present mum was in the stands, but also Milos & dad were there as well as Scott (he almost totally shove his head ) and Sven. There was another guy sitting with them and chatting with them who looked 'Serbish' too, but I've got no idea who it was. I don't really like Ana's outfit. The cut is fine, but I think skirt is at least 5cm too long. It makes a huge difference (and you know I'm not saying it just because I want to see more of her legs! :o). Anyway confident start for Ana. It's more that Tu made the errors. Is that correct? She looked kinda relieved in the end. Anyway, it's a straight sets win. 3rd round is still her worst result at Wimbledon :yeah: Now I actually hope for Schiavone. Can be easier for her. AJDE ANA!!! But Rezai will force her to do it on Saturday. :tape: DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 28th, 2007, 12:23 PM Seems like it. Kinda what we said yesterday already. She only went to the net 10 times? Tu 22 times. Or did she think that she'll be at the net plenty of times later today? I think it will be better that they just lose the doubles match. I still don't get it why she entered anyway. Too tired for Stanford? Dexter Jun 28th, 2007, 12:47 PM I just caught Ana's interview on the livestream. Ana was totally cute as always, smiling all the time. I burst out laughing when Ana asked about if she thinks her game suits to grass, she replied 'yes, I serve well and like coming to the net!' Ana, honey - stop lying, you at the very least don't like it! :spit::o I somehow doubt that she just pretends to stop herself from coming to the net and she still goes how she likes coming to the net. :tape: On the side note Ana speaking in Serbian is a joy to hear. If I understood well she was asked about playing doubles during Olympics, but she said she's not sure, but she wants to concentrate on singles. She was also asked whose idea was to play doubles and she blamed Danka. I'll post the interview as soon as it's up on Wimbledon website. Dexter Jun 28th, 2007, 12:56 PM Ana's becoming a little bitch on the court: Ivanovic Topples TuThursday, 28 June, 2007 French Open finalist Ana Ivanovic overcame a doughty challenge from American Meilen Tu to win through to the third round in straight sets, but required 84 energetic minutes to complete the task. If only Tu had not surrendered her serve in the very first game of the match, she would have had a real chance of taking the opening set the full distance. Ivanovic was having difficulty getting into her stride early on but Tu's errors at the same stage of the proceedings proved to be the clinching difference between the two players. The 29-year-old American, who may not be a familiar name to many but was in fact playing her 10th Wimbledon, had two immediate chances to break back but could not make them count. Whatever sixth-seeded Ivanovic knew of her opponent - they had never played before this – she did not take long to become frustrated with her inability to dominate a player now at a career-high ranking of 38. When her first serve at 2-1 deuce was called marginally long, she banged her racket on the court and asked umpire Mohamed Lahyani rhetorically: “This must be a joke, right?” But there was little to make her smile about her misfiring first serve. When it was working well, it was a formidable weapon – during the first set barely half her first serves were in, but when it was she grabbed four points in every five. Tu clearly sensed her opponent's irritation and produced some clear-thinking tactics to trouble Ivanovic further. Four times in the first set the world number six required an ace to dig herself out of trouble. Going into the second set 19-year-old Ivanovic seemed determined to repeat her early break in order to compound her advantage. But break point after break point was fended off by an equally resolute Tu - emitting Sharapova-esque whooping cries with each stroke - until a double fault followed by a wide forehand from the American gave Ivanovic a 3-2 advantage. The number six seed then closed out the match 6-4, 6-3, with a break to love sealing victory in a more comfortable style. Tsk, tsk!   DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 28th, 2007, 01:27 PM Ok it is a win, but I wonder how long she can continue like that. Her serve helped her again today. Otherwise...... She has the perfect game for grass, but now more acting like a clay courter? She improved on many areas, but the tactics are not what you can call great. If you have a great serve, great forehand and likes to go to the net and also being tall. Then why is she making it so hard for herself. Not that I've seen much of it today, but from what I saw it's kinda like I thought. Now I think that she doesn't sees/feel the game. Which can be a problem in the future. So much talent and already number 6 in the world. But her level is certainly not where it can be. Ana, clay season is over. Now use your head and do what's needed. I'm kinda afraid this tournament won't bring the result that is really possible. azdaja Jun 28th, 2007, 01:32 PM yeah, i'm worried as well :o but who knows, she could improve in later rounds. good luck against rezai! DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 28th, 2007, 01:34 PM yeah, i'm worried as well :o but who knows, she could improve in later rounds. good luck against rezai! It's actually not about improving, but about changing. Like she can improve her volleys every minute, but that won't help if you don't go to the net. Dexter Jun 28th, 2007, 01:34 PM Sven should give her a serious talkabout. azdaja Jun 28th, 2007, 01:35 PM It's actually not about improving, but about changing. Like she can improve her volleys every minute, but that won't help if you don't go to the net. yeah, i meant improving her strategy and mental strength. Langers Jun 28th, 2007, 01:35 PM Doesn't matter. She can play Brie Whitehead and I would want to see it. Of course you do, but if the games done and dusted, and it's an average at best game, I wouldn't REALLY mind if I didn't manage to watch it. Dexter Jun 28th, 2007, 01:38 PM Of course you do, but if the games done and dusted, and it's an average at best game, I wouldn't REALLY mind if I didn't manage to watch it.I would. :) Langers Jun 28th, 2007, 01:39 PM I would. :) OK. :o Just Do It Jun 28th, 2007, 01:56 PM Tough win  Ana didnt play good, at all ! Bad movement ! Langers Jun 28th, 2007, 02:07 PM Tough win  Ana didnt play good, at all ! Bad movement ! Good, so it wasn't just me who noticed this. She hit reasonably well, but her movement wasn't too flash. She's in great shape, and she has more control and more variety in her game now, the only thing missing is the top notch movement. She probably won't ever be a grear mover, but if she can improve this then she would be mighty hard to beat. Dexter Jun 28th, 2007, 02:09 PM Lindsay was slower than a cow and she still managed to win 3 GSs and was #1 for almost 100 weeks. It's not all about movement. DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 28th, 2007, 02:35 PM Lindsay was slower than a cow and she still managed to win 3 GSs and was #1 for almost 100 weeks. It's not all about movement. No, it's not all about movement. But it will make it a lot easier for her. Tennis is just improving all the time. And so movement becomes more important. At RG her movement looked fine. When hardcourt season starts again, I guess her movement will getting better again. Langers Jun 28th, 2007, 04:01 PM Lindsay was slower than a cow and she still managed to win 3 GSs and was #1 for almost 100 weeks. It's not all about movement. Of course not, but it's about the only thing holding her back. DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 28th, 2007, 04:52 PM Of course not, but it's about the only thing holding her back. I wouldn't say so. Her tactics are worse. Schelmy Jun 28th, 2007, 05:17 PM Daniela/Ana - Chan/Chuang live: mms://wmlive-acl.bbc.co.uk/wms/sport/sport4auk_s1 Dexter Jun 28th, 2007, 05:27 PM ^^ Thanx heaps! :bounce: mei62 Jun 28th, 2007, 06:09 PM Ana's becoming a little bitch on the court: Tsk, tsk!   Now in doubles both her and Hantuchova are harrassing the chair umpire. Hahha!! I love this game! Danči Dementia Jun 28th, 2007, 06:20 PM I love this Ana/Danka team....... Danči Dementia Jun 28th, 2007, 06:27 PM hope the'll win Rod the Bama Jun 28th, 2007, 06:59 PM The match has just ended and Ana and Dani or as i like to call them The Covergirls, lost 6-7(4), 4-6. Tough loss for them, but still it was a pretty good showing in their first match together against the 3rd seeded team. Hopefully they`ll team up again soon. As for singles action, glad that Ana won eariler today. :clap2: However judging from what i saw in the stats, she didn`t look all that great. Ana needs to improve on some areas, especially the 1st serve. Dexter Jun 28th, 2007, 07:05 PM Ana was either magnificent or useless at the net in the doubles match. Shame they couldn't hold on to the lead they had in both sets. They had fun it seems as they were laughing ALL THE TIME. Danči Dementia Jun 28th, 2007, 07:06 PM The match has just ended and Ana and Dani or as i like to call them The Covergirls, lost 6-7(4), 4-6. Tough loss for them, but still it was a pretty good showing in their first match together against the 3rd seeded team. I hope that in her next match she'll feel more confortable on court DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 28th, 2007, 07:07 PM Ok fun time is over. She laughs more in a double match than in all the single matches of this year. Now back to real business. 3rd round is Saturday. Maybe they will double together again, but I guess not soon. Langers Jun 29th, 2007, 03:38 AM I wouldn't say so. Her tactics are worse. I'll pay that. ;) DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 29th, 2007, 07:22 PM Ana plays first at court 13 tomorrow. If she wins she finally get to the main courts. AJDE ANA!!!!! Dexter Jun 29th, 2007, 07:32 PM WTF? #13 again? :weirdo: Ajde ANA!!! dybbuk Jun 29th, 2007, 09:51 PM Ajde Ana! :bounce: Dexter Jun 30th, 2007, 03:22 PM Ana's match has been suspended due to rain at 63 0-0* GP for Aravane. Some quality tennis so far, many winners from both girls, but I wish Ana was a bit more aggressive. Ajde ANA!!! Tenis Srbija Jun 30th, 2007, 03:56 PM Awesome match :worship: Aravan plays with more power than Ana  But Ana gets more balls in :) Congrats to both, no matter who wins :yeah: Langers Jun 30th, 2007, 04:14 PM Well she’s well on track to win but it has been far from a convincing performance. Her game has improved significantly over the past 6 or so months but she’s still got a long way to go before she becomes the player she is capable of being. She’s been caught flat footed far too often and therefore has been hitting a lot of balls into the net. Considering where it’s come from her backhand has improved a great deal but it’s still a work in progress. She gives it too much loop and the heavy hitters such as the Williams’ and Jankovic will punish it. No Doubt Jun 30th, 2007, 04:30 PM Ana actually stopped the match about 5/10 minutes before the rain came because she felt the court was too slippery behind the baseline (She'd slipped over earlier in the first set), the umpire agreed with her so they stopped the match to dry the court up. Luckily she did stop it because it made her exit with the rain far more swift! So she plays tennis AND predicts the rain....what a talented girl! :p Still raining hard at Wimbledon Dexter Jun 30th, 2007, 04:36 PM If Ana's match is not completed tomorrow, she'll play on Monday. :help: No Doubt Jun 30th, 2007, 04:42 PM Atleast most players are in the same boat, only Mauresmo and Sharapova have finished their matches havent they? DAVAJ MKirilenko Jun 30th, 2007, 05:02 PM 1 set up and she actually can't give this away. I can't say I'm really satisfied with how she plays. Her serve is nice again, but in the rallies Rezai seems to be better. Ana can't seem to put the balls deep to the line. Many halfcourt balls which gives Rezai opportunities. And also she's not going for the easy shots. When the field is open, she still hits the ball right back to the opponent. Not new, but she played smarter on clay. Movement is also not where it should be. And common Ana, play more aggressive. That's more her strength than trying to be solid. Of course it can help against these players, but it would be better if she makes the points herself. The first point of game 4 was just one of the rare times she went to the net. It was a success and she can get easy points of it. She really should try that more often. Not that I'm all negative, but it just shows that she can do way better. G~Playa Jun 30th, 2007, 11:40 PM yup shes in the box seat to win that match! Langers Jul 1st, 2007, 10:33 AM 1 set up and she actually can't give this away. She’s a fine player right now, but she’s got a long way to go still. sharapovarulz1 Jul 1st, 2007, 11:33 AM Good post as usual. She’s a fine player right now, but she’s got a long way to go still. For sure:) I believe when they do carry on with this match on Monday it's pretty much in the bag for Ana :D DAVAJ MKirilenko Jul 1st, 2007, 02:39 PM she’s got a long way to go still. I'm glad about that! She's already number 6 with 2 Tier I titles and a grandslam final. And still you can see that she can improve much more. If she reaches her full level then for me it's absolutely sure she wins more than 1 slam and becomes number 1. G~Playa Jul 1st, 2007, 02:48 PM yup she definately has it in her tho! dulkogii Jul 2nd, 2007, 02:15 AM you can do it aana! azdaja Jul 2nd, 2007, 11:42 AM ana defeats rezai 63 62  Dexter Jul 2nd, 2007, 11:46 AM Yep! Ana came out like a champion on fire and did what was required. Great display on serving. :yeah: But she had knee taped. :scared: Just Do It Jul 2nd, 2007, 11:56 AM :yeah: Sleepwalker64 Jul 2nd, 2007, 11:58 AM What happened with her knee? I haven't seen nothing on Saturday....she fell once, kind of slipped off on that peace of wet grass...but it didn't seem serious? Any news about it? Dexter Jul 2nd, 2007, 12:00 PM I have no idea, but her movement didn't seem to hampered by that. It looked precautionary. Dexter Jul 2nd, 2007, 12:09 PM Stats from the match: http://i9.tinypic.com/4zbb0yd.jpg azdaja Jul 2nd, 2007, 12:10 PM Yep!
