I've added the overall ranking here:

I've been thinking about compiling a ranking considering the performance of each poster throughout the season.

Hi Cing!

I'm glad to hear from you again. I'm working on the singles ranking and I can anticipate you had a quite good season, the 2nd place in the 8th leg let you jump to an impressive 12th place (out of 45 contestants) in the overall ranking.

Hi Arne!

You're 15th, just behind your team mate Anna Spanna.

When is it possible to change your team?

DoctorG
Oct 13th, 2001, 09:35 PM
Arne,
the 9th and final leg has already started, you can change your players right now and in this thread, but you can't choose anyone who played in Filderstadt or Shanghai.
As for the future, I've been considering many different possibilities, including to quit everything and to start a brand new game; as soon as I've taken my final decision I'll let you know about the schedule.

Hi SIR Josh!

Your last performance was not very good but overall you had a satisfying season, you're 21st.

The Three Musketeers are still in contention for a medal, above all thanks to Poe Reader, who is 3rd in the singles ranking.

So, let's guess who was the (French) weakest link of your team...

Ave, Caesar!

Ooops, wrong thread.

Hello, DoctorG! How nice to see you again, and thank you for the updates. The AbFabs did really BAD - 0 points - but overall we aren't so awful.

Hope we can do better the rest of the year, but won't count on it!

Ciao!

I want to change Martine Hingis by Venus Williams. She's ranked lower, so I don't think that's a problem!

Arne,
that's ok, your team for the 9th leg will be:
Clijsters / Seles / Henin / V.Williams / S.Williams
Thank you, good luck!

Jacob,
it was a great experience, especially at the end of July when there were many foreign tourists. I had the chance to come into contact with many people and to learn many new things.

Thanks for keeping it going Doc!

I know I did poorly in singles but as a team Tower of Power did well to finish #8.

Thanks again, Doc - look forward to your new game. Does this mean there will be no tennis Poker next year? I'm sure your new game will be just as good - if not, BETTER!

catch you later,
-Rachel

Doris,
Hi! I'm glad to hear from you again.
Your combination for the 9th leg is not definitive yet as Schnyder is still playing in Pattaya, but it's guaranteed you'll score some more points.

Thanks to Doris and Rachel, I take the chance to give a few info about next year's game.

The new game will be called "Tennis Pole Vault", and it will try to apply the rules of high jump and pole vault competitions. It will be just test run to see how it works, I'll post the rules after I've wrapped up everything for this year's Tennis Poker.

Tennis Poker will be regularly back next year, but with a few changes. After more than two years I think it's time to solve some problems and to try to make the game more interesting. I'm going to reduce the number of legs from 10 to 8, and basically you'll be allowed to change your picks before any round starts. There will be singles tournaments which will start and finish within the same leg, and I'm preparing a team event with eliminations round after round. I'll post everything here and on the website as soon as I've planned all the details.

Thanks!
