Very disappointing result :(

I guess my hope for a breakthrough at a crappy Tier III for her is now a lost cause. All I can say is, Kremer was once decent. I'm not going to take an overdose of drugs and put a plastic bag on my head yet, but I'm going to at least get the rubber bands out.

I didn't. But overall for the whole year Kremer has posted quite a few more good wins than Kirilenko.

Maria has had a couple of good matches this year, that one, beating Julia Vakulenko at the Australian and especially, the win over Peer but overall Kremer has posted more good results than Maria.

Hopefully Maria will pick it up later in the year. But I'm not sure clay helps her game.

What is going on with this girl? Serisouly, she should be able to play her game at an average level to take down a player who hasn't played good tennis since being badly injured three years back.

On the women's side, the Estoril Open is being promoted mostly through Kirilenko, even though she's not a favourite.

I remember that during the Open's presentation, while they were going through the women's top seeds, they seemed almost embarrassed that Bartoli was there: "Marion Bartoli is currently the top seed on the entry list, but she won't be so by the time the Open rolls".

Well right now I'd say Bartoli (who will be the #1 seed after all) may actually have a better chance of winning a match or two than Kirilenko.

the really shocking thing about this is the turnaround from a mere 2 months ago when makiri beat kremer 1 and 2. really really bad.
