I'm Wondering who'll get the WCs.

Youlia Fedossova is #6 next in MD so i'm sure she wont get in so she has one

Alize Cornet #8 next in MD, also wont get in MD and will probably get a WC

Maybe they'll give one to one of these : Sanchez, Parmentier, or Cohen-Aloro, maybe Johansson or Foretz too.. Can you confirm one of these ideaS?

I think Fedossova and Cornet would be defintes.
The others will be out Steph Foretz, Parmentier, Johansson, Pichet, Cohen A & Olivia Sanchez- probably the first 5 will get it.
Then there is 1 Aussie wilcard- I think Dellaqua

I think QD Wildcards will be US Junior Winner, Andieux, De Guberanis, Haring, Huck, Thorpe, Pavlovic (maybe an outsider for a Main Draw WC) & Coin

For MD, I think: Cornet, Fedossova, Johansson, Foretz, Parmentier, Cohen-Aloro, and Cindy Chala. I know Chala is a bit of an outside pick, but she is France's best player on the junior tour at the moment and that might do it.

For Q: Pavlovic, Haring, Vedy, and Coin plus three juniors: Larriere, Rodier, and Radovanovic. Maybe Andrieux or Huck over Haring or Coin

My tips For MD :

Fedossova (even if she's been sucking horribly lately)
Cornet (100% sure)
Johansson (won her 1st round last year as a WC)
Parmentier (won Biarritz 25K on clay)
Foretz (former top100)
Dellacqua or Ferguson (but Casey is closer to the top100)
For the last 2, I go with Cohen Aloro (better relationship with federation) and after it will be between Pichet and Sanchez, they refused the WC to Virginie last year but she qualified, Olivia is a good claycourter, the final decision will be interesting, one of them will have to play qualies.

For qualies WC

Julie Coin
Mayline Andrieux (but she's not playing so much, don't know why)
Laurène Fayol (top 350 and progressing)
Irena Pavlovic
Violette Huck
American junior WC

For remaining wc's, I think Laura Thorpe deserves it but she's still injured, they used to give at least something to juniors so maybe 2006 national champions have a chance, they're all playing well : Charlotte Rodier (under14), Cindy Chala (under16) and Stéphanie Vongsouthi (under18)

I will consider surprising and not fair to give QualiesWC to other players than these (maybe a chance for Vedy, Haring or Radovanovic who received all WC in the past...)

Seventeen-year-old Madison Brengle of Dover, Del., has been awarded a wild-card entry into the 2007 French Open women’s singles qualifying tournament.
Brengle earned her entry into the French Open prelimin by winning an eight-player USTA Wild Card Tournament at the Boca West Tennis Club in Boca Raton, Fla.

Currently ranked No. 288 in the world, she won her first pro singles title at the $10,000 USTA Pro Circuit event in Baltimore in 2005 as a qualifier and reached the finals of two USTA Pro Circuit $25,000 events (Hammond, La., and Clearwater, Fla.) this year.

The USTA invited a group of eight American players, age 20 or younger, to compete for the women’s wild card last week. In the final, Brengle defeated Mary Gambale, who won the wild card in the French Open qualifying tournament two years ago, 6-4, 6-3.

Other players who participated in the tournament were Julia Cohen, Alexa Glatch, Jamie Hampton, Ellah Nze, Melanie Oudin and Ashley Weinhold.

I am so tired of Lucic, she is not ready for such big events. I am not against giving one or two to other girls than French, but seriously Lucic :o
I hope that Chala and Larrière will have one for the qualies, they both withdrew today from their tournament, I hope this is a good sign.

So what ? She got crushed by Castano. Vesnina is in a worse form than Rezai.
Lucic should play challengers, that is where she belongs for the moment. There are so many other better choices as foreigners than her like Cirstea. Anyway, the FFT will give WCs to French girls as always, you can be sure of that.

My updated analysis. I put what I consider to be shoe-ins in bold, and in the order of probability.

Maindraw:
1. Cornet- she's young, playing fairly well, high rank
2. Fedossova- young, high rank
3. Johansson- high rank, in good favor with FFT
4. Parmentier- good rank, pretty young, FFT likes her
5. Cohen-Aloro- good form, high career rank
6. Foretz- former top 100, decent current rank
7. Pichet- decent rank
(8. Australian- Dellacqua)

Qualifying
1. Huck- good form, young
2. Pavlovic- good form, young
3. Chala- France's top junior
4. Radovanovic- been injured/not playing well, but young and FFT likes her
5. Hesse- only 14 and doesn't have many results but there's ususally one out of the blue young player and she's been getting a lot of WC love
6. Haring- good rank
7. Coin- good rank
(8. US- Brengle)

I don't think they have room to give Sanchez a WC and she'll play qualies as a direct entry. They may go with youth and put Huck and Pavlovic in the MD instead of Foretz and Pichet, in which F+P would play qualies directly. If that happens, two extra qualifying WCs would open up and probably go to two out of the juniors: Larriere, Ciolkowsli, and Rodier.

Great analysis :yeah:
I agree with you especially for the MD ones.

As regards the Q draw, I would add that Cindy has committed to a Grade A event next week during the qualies. So I don't know what choice she will make. She withdrew from a tournament this week, it may be the sign that she is preparing RG.

Gracia will have one for sure. If she does well in Saint-Gaudens, she will probably get it for the MD draw.

Concerning Amandine, you may be right, she played well against Nastya P in France and received a MD WC in Saint-Gaudens. I would prefer Kristina Mladenovic to get it though. She is a greater talent ; but I think she is still injured.
I hope that Haring won't have a WC, she is a complete disaster.

If there are some 4 more withdrawals, Youlia may not need a WC. Myskina and Zvonareva won't be there for sure. She has a little chance to go in directly.

I really hope you are right concerning Cindy.:)

If the FFT could hurry up and give the names soon, it would be very nice :)

Hmm, I think that means Chala might be getting a MD WC, because I can't imagine her not getting one at all!

Sadly I was right  Cindy won't play in the WTA draw of Roland-Garros this year. She has just won her first match in an Italian junior tournament which means that there is no chance at all for her to receive a QWC. Still, if Youlia gets in the main draw without WC due to two more withdrawals, she could have a hope, but Pichet is more likely to take it in such a situation.

As you said before, the FFT choices are boring as always. It is always the same, always the same hopeless players. I don't understand why the FFT doesn't believe in our young players. I guess that in the qualies they will give us Vergos, Haring, Coin etc :o I was hoping that Kristina Mladenovic would be granted a QWC but there again, she plays a junior event the same week.

Why they picked Flipkens, I have no clue.

I am so disappointed, I bought tickets for the first day of qualies thinking that young French players would be there and ... no :o I cannot understand why the FFT doesn't want to help our biggest hopes. It would have been a great experience for Rodier, Larrière, Ciolkowski, Chala, Hesse or Mladenovic to play there and nothing. Therefore I will cheer loudly against Haring  .

I think TBE said somewhere that Pavlyuchenkova cant play WTA until her 16th Birthday

But this is ITF, not WTA :p

She can't play in WTA events. As far as I know Slams are ITF events.

it makes no difference.
both counted the same under AER tournaments.

only if a player reaches a slam on their own merit (rank) then they can play slams outside the normal AER criteria.

WC :

Florence Haring :tape
Julie Coin
Virginie Pichet
Stephanie Vonsgouthi
Irena Pavlovic
Laurène Fayol
Violette Huck

So expecting.

omg WC for Haring :tape: :tape: :tape:

good to see Violette in there after her 25k :bounce:
Irena

Florence Haring is the new Capucine Rouisseau- the FFT just keeps throwing away wildcards on her. I'm pretty dissaponted that there aren't more younger players at the very least in the qualifying draw. I'm suprised Rodier didn't get one! I hope they give the last WC to Dokic- that would be really good.

Why did Pichet get a WC, she's on the list for qualifying already anyway

Cappucine actually has a game though. Or had, anyway, before the injury problems.
