No trainings for another two or maybe three months, no Roland Garros, no Wimbledon. She wants to try something new now but will return someday for sure. That's what she said yesterday on Russian Radio Mayak.

I remember last year when she said she wanted to qualify for the YEC, otherwise she would give up...nobody took her very seriously by then, I guess she was being more true than we thought.

Jens Gerlach.
They've never parted.

I don't know if a deal has been made yet, but Jens is rumoured to be joining the LTA Women's Coaching team. He was supposedly at Bath earlier this week, and also heading to Rohampton with the British Fed Cup squad (minus Naomi). http://www.britishtennis.net/Index.html?blogentryid=1389714

Whoa ... you wonder how much drive she'll have to come back? I remember her saying a season or two ago that if wasnt in the top 10, she would retire. :o

get well soon . . .

I mean, officially he's still her coach. But now that Myskina is non-active Gerlach is free to coach someone else, I think.

Oh my God, Nastya has started designing "Aytsan" parkas, and she just signed a deal to appear on one episode of Russia's most popular show: Crime & Punishment: Special Victims Unit! :scared:

She's trying to pull a Serena so she can come back and win the AO 2009!

Do you think Chris Evert will wrote something about this?
I mean Nastya stopped tennis cause she doesn't care anymore and she wants to try other things before an eventual come back. It reminds me of Serena.

The girls on the WTA Tour have been on a tennis court since they are 5 years old, their life was all about tennis. Now that they have achieve something you can't blame them for taking a break. :)

i really do think that match at the olympics in athens back in 2004 is still in the back of her head.5-1 in the 3rd set and pegged back and eventually lost it 7-6.But for juju in that match:worship: .And for nastya:help:

she doesn't have much to defend I think so it shouldn't hurt her that much...but still I miss her...you were guaranteed an exciting match whether it be from the tennis or her tantrums at her coach...hurry back myskina:)

I know she'll come back. She just needs a little time away to find her passion again. She'll miss tennis and will eventually want to be back on court, more eager than ever. Now that I'm done convincing everyone else... I just have to convince myself of that too.

Silly sausage. Of course she'll be back!! :D

I doubt we'll see Nastya on court this year. Even if her injury heals up she will hardly return at USO where she always plays awful. Indoor events or AO 2008 are more realistical goals for comeback attempt.

She won't be coming back I think. She just doesn't have the desire to play anymore. I can't imagine her trying to comeback with no ranking. She doesn't have that much fight anymore to play with no ranking.

Does anyone get the feeling that this is the end for her? idk, once she leaves and realizes she can enjoy life away from the game, it might be hard to come back... As long as she's happy :D

No trainings for another two or maybe three months

Is she still unable to train because of the surgery? Was the expected or have their been complications, or can't she bothered to train because of all the other stuff she is doing?

Im usually pesimistic about players returning to the tour after a lengthy time off as very players have actually managed to do it (many have tried though).

However I think that when the times right Nastya will come back, she loves her tennis and when she comes back she may be even better than before :)

i cant see her coming back. i hope im wrong but she said herself that she wouldnt play if she couldnt get back inside the top 10-she couldnt do that and now injuries and "something else". shes a great player but im not sure the fire is there anymore
