I think Vee in 3. Tati's going to push her, and if she keeps serving 6+ dfs a match, life's going to get tough

Golovin isn't fast enough, nor does she have enough offense. Venus' play is dodgy right now, so Golovin should show up, but if Venus can even find her 'B' game, school's out.

Venus in 2 or 3.

I say Venus in three, but that's just based on her form in past few matches. If she gets her serve on track, it'll be only in two easily.

tatiana in three. she's not tu.

No, she is definitely not Tu. Tu has shown that she has the mental strength to fight back after losing the first set.

I think Venus will win this one 6-4, 6-4, but with very close games. Venus will win the "big" points.

Go Venus!:bounce:

I think Tati has a great chance to win with Vee. I keep in my mind that second set against Tu when Vee was broken several times so there's some possibility that Tatiana will win :)

Apr 6th, 2007, 11:54 AM
I think Vee will take Tati down in 2.
Bugger I like both players, too bad one of them has to leave the tournament...
Good luck to both of them, may the best win.

I would like to think Venus game is already better than it was this time in 2005 when she met up with Golovin.

Venus in two tough sets 6-4, 7-5

I think Tati has the game to trouble Venus (like Jankovic and Myskina) especially on clay!

But Venus in 2

Apr 6th, 2007, 02:16 PM
Tati, I think.

Slightly more solid than Vee at the moment. Though she is capable of putting in some disaster performances (Bammer at IW).

I think whoever wins though will lose to Jelena in SF. :(

Callystarr
Apr 6th, 2007, 02:36 PM
That really makes no difference  Both aren't the best on clay...

actually Venus has always been pretty solid on clay, it just has never amounted to much when the French Open rolled around. Going back to 1998 these are her best results & her total overall CLAY court record since.

1998 TIER I - Italian Open - Finalist
1998 GS - French Open - Quarterfinalist
1999 TIER II - Hamburg - Winner
1999 TIER I - Italian Open - Winner
2000 GS - French Open - Quarterfinalist
2001 TIER II - Hamburg - Winner
2002 TIER II - Amelia Island - Winner
2002 TIER II - Hamburg - Finalist
2002 GS - French Open - Finalist
2003 TIER II - Warsaw - Finalist
2004 TIER I - Charleston - Winner
2004 TIER II - Warsaw - Winner
2005 TIER III - Istanbul - Winner
2006 TIER I - Rome - Semifinalist
2006 GS - French Open - Quarterfinalist

I come to think that a 93-21 clay court record going into today is very good...but then again who am I?
