Australia picks full-strength team for World Group II returnTennis Australia today announced that Australia would be at full strength for its Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group II tie in Austria. The tie will be played indoors on clay from 21-22 April in Dornbirn, Austria.

Australia’s top player Samantha Stosur (world No.27 in singles and No.1 in doubles) will spearhead the team, joined by Nicole Pratt (45), Alicia Molik (58) and Rennae Stubbs (world No.7 in doubles).

Nicole Bradtke will reprise her role as assistant captain, while promising West Australian teenager Jessica Moore has again been selected as hitting partner.

"It will be a very challenging tie for the Optus Australian Fed Cup team,” Taylor said. “Austria has a home court advantage and two players (Sybille Bammer and Tamira Paszek) that have won singles titles on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour in the last 12 months, however, I like our chances.

“Australia has three players ranked in the top 60 in the world and all our girls have some outstanding doubles accomplishments. Our team spirit is a great advantage and should the tie be close, often factors such as team spirit can make the difference."

Australia won Asia/Oceania Zone Group I in 2006 and then defeated Switzerland in a World Group IIplay-off to return to World Group II for the first time since 2004.
