There's no doubt that these players should have achieved a lot more in their pro tennis careers.. In your opinion, who's the biggest waste of talent?

I'd go for Lucic

galle-sidot had a magic-like left-handy ground-strokes. she could have hit her into-out forhand 7-9 time sucsessfully and she hit so many winners with placement rather than power- and that made her game a beauty.

I cannot remeber any other non-power player who hit so many winners just by placement. what a shame she under-achieved. :(

I voted for Sidot also. She was one of my favourite players. I think she was hitting pretty flat and hard:confused: But her tactics and her touch was just superhuman!

I heard rumours that she is working on a comeback:eek:

I voted Lina because she's one of my faves. :wavey: But Gaelle-Sidot had a very good game also and should definitely have achieved more.

Re. Baby Blue Eyes, it wasn't really her fault. When Lina was around 16 she developed a foot problem that needed her to take a few months off, but some lousy doctor kept giving her injections of painkillers and anti-inflammatories, to let her keep playing. Even if she wanted to, @ 16-17 it was really the doctor's responsibility not to just do what she may have wanted. (And her parents may have been @ fault on this too).

What about Casanova? She was quite talented too. She had a similar technique to Martina but with much more power.

True. She is really talented. Its a shame that she has these weight problems all the time.

Mirjana. But she is attempting a comeback. Played a good match against Anna C.

Venus Williams!
That girl just wasted all that talent that she had. She was the Best player in the world 2000 to 2002 and could of been beyond that but didn't work hard for it. She let martina rule tennis and now look at her trying to get her glory back which is fading.
Don't get me wrong, i really like Venus(better then that fake @$$ sister of her's:rolleyes: ) alot, i just wish that she had used her talents better, she should be the won with 8 to 10 slams now. Serena worked hard for what she has become but Venus will always be the real talent in the family.

I am not sure about that, Venus has technical problems with her forhand and it causes her a lot of problem in tight matches whereas Serena's forhand is much cleaner technically.

Totally agree. This Era of tennis belonged to Venus. She should have at least 9 Slams at this date and more. However, she couldn't bring herself to dismiss her sister in Slam finals of the past. Lately, her inconsistent and erratic performances while in her prime doesn't suggest things will get any better now and in the near future, unless otherwise indicated. Outside of Venus, as mentioned, Sprem is a pure waste of talent.
