With 300 points more than Schiavone, who didn't even participate in AI where she had a final to defend.

Well, what to say, I don't think anyone would ever have expected this! Congrats Tax, just like Silvia you're playing your best tennis in the later stages of your career :yeah:

Good luck in the rest of the season

5 Italians in Top50!
Tax is going to be about 23rd, Franci about 26th, Mara 29th or 30th, Flavia 44th and Roby 48th

:worship:

With Franci and Flavia getting better soon, everything is going to be fine! :D

Congrats Tathy!

yep, it's the 30/30 spell.
Tauziat, Farina-Elia, Davenport Pierce too, in a way.
it's not a world of 20 year olds, even if you play a very demanding style.

I don't agree with Pierce and Davenport: they were already great players with slams at 20. And still were around 30.
For the three other examples, they reached their top only at age 30, because their game needs technical maturity to be at the top.

Franny and Flavia should be ashamed though :o

the maturaty of pierce at 30 was never there earlier on, even though her career is built over injuries, and not the other way round.
davenport built a steady self-belief that would not comprimise with the critics of her schedualing. she was also a rock-steady preformer as a #1, and apart the slams, she was the most capable and deserving #1 for a lengthy period of time that we had for that long while back.

technical maturaty is something that Tax, Farina-Elia always had.
Tauziat was mature, for me anyway, only when it came to playing for her flag.
other than that she was cool, but mentaly the net game fit her because it allowed her to be in charge and win or lose the point.
they are all very much mature in any aspect other than that, and technacly sound.

I'm so happy and so proud! For sure, Barazzutti will choose her for Fed Cup! I really hope so!

I'm sure Fran would win if they met.
As for Flavia, it's just a matter of time before she gets back the ranking she deserves.

Schiavone is useless... cant even win a title
Are you serious? At the time she was worth top 10. Dementieva, Petrova, Kournikova... were top 10 without a single title.
imo Schiavone is better than Pennetta who could barely peak around #15 (that's my opinion, and top 15 is an amazing ranking).
