Do you think K-Lina knew that the score was wrong but didn't bother saying anything? There was a moment after the score was called wrong where she looked like she was making her decision

Too funny. The lineswoman literally screamed "OUT!" when Sprem was serving at 1-2, how could Teddy not hear it? And then he says 2-2 and doesn't wonder at all why the "next" point gets underway two seconds later, with Sprem serving from the same side. Ahahahahaha. :weirdo:

Super tiebreaks in lieu of third sets for doubles
Hiring Larry Scott
Mismanaging PR from 1999 to 2003. The tour had more star power those for years than it had had in decades. And in terms of increasing the popularity of the tour, they have nothing to show for it. So TV ratings go up when Venus or Serena play. That would have been true regardless. Has the tour leveraged that into increased name recognition for it's best players. In 1998, Martina Hingis was an international star. In 2007, a similarly accomplished Justine Henin is not. Yet the tour had Seles, Graf, Capriati, Hingis, Venus, Serena, Kournikova all with good records for drawing good crowds and decent to great TV ratings. If people don't know who you players are now, it's because of a failure to introduce them.
Indian Wells 2001 - Tournament director fails to quell crowd. Why dumb? Because a lot of your revenue comes from television advertizing, and depends on TV ratings. Having the two players who get the best TV ratings refusing to play your tournament is .... somebody else's problem now, at least directly. Charlie Pasarell is longer TD.
Not paying someone to lose a final to Kournikova in 1998.
Hingis - Riding horse before '97 RG
Dementieva -Walking onto the court for the '04 RG final
Hantuchova - Falling for all the sex symbol crap in 2002-3. Not many can do all that stuff and still play winning tennis.
Amelie Mauresmo - Not drinking a bottle of champagne before each match she plays at Roland Garros.

What happened?

I believe the USA's team rules stipulated that only BJK could coach the team and JenCap's father was coaching her in one practice session and BJK confronted her and forebade her father on the court. Jen challenged her about it, and either she quit or BJK kicked her off the squad. It's been so long ago, I don't remember who did what in the end, but it really got blown out of proportion and there was controversy over Jen not following the rules and BJK being a tyrannt.

She did overrule it, which is why it was such a horrendous call.

No, no...watch the clip of that point.... There is no audible overrule, all you hear from the chair is "Advantage Capriati". After Serena's ball landed INSIDE the line there was no "OUT" call from the chair. When an umpire overrules a call they either say "correction: ball was good" if it was called good, or "out" if the linesperson misses the long or wide ball. The umpire just doesn't call the score without an audible overrule, which did not occur at least not from what I can hear.

Well, the linesman called it good, so the chair had to have overruled it at some point. I don't think she'd mess the match up that much just because she misspoke.

- USO 04 Serena/Cap line calls. That match was probably the most influencial in introducing the challenge system.

- Spremdledon. I still say today that she knew the score, is it just me being a bias fan or can you totally see it on her face because to me its blatantly obvious. Still, Vee left those SP's slip so what happened happened.
And Venus didn't?

Wouldn't that make Venus dumber than Sprem then? :)

I suggest you watch the clip again. It was an overrule. :)

If you look closely you can see Alves' index finger pointing "out".
You theory doesn't make sense anyway.

another interesting moment was when Ana Shashnova retired against Ana Timotic during last year's Fed Cup competition.
She was 7-5 5-3 and a serve up but injured badly...
BUT she managed to win 3 straight points and thus she had 3 mps... but she missed them, lost her service game and retired at 5-4* 15-0... :o

No One Mentioned the Wrong Measurement of the court in one tournie a few years back. I remember it was on a clay court. but I can't remember which and which players were invloved. All I know is that the players complained for the match to be repeated, but officials said no, because the players felt the oddness at the end or almost at the end of the match.. Stupid Officials!!

I think it was at Amelia Island. I can't remember who though. There were a lot of double faults.

4) Capriati choking against Henin in the US Open semi finals '03

3) A fan calling Capriati "Chewbaka ! " while she was serving for that match (see above)

2) Serena Williams getting robbed on the line calling at the US Open
