who will take this match? I think Ana is the slight favorite but it really could go either way ... both with great groundstrokes but suspect movement ... Ana with the better serve ... Peng with one clay match under her belt and Michael Chang on the sidelines ...

I really want Peng to do well so she can be seeded for Roland Garros

Of course they should. Though Clijsters once lost to Fernandez, Dementieva once lost to Kleinova, big deal...
Peng has had one good tournament in her whole career. Two years ago. She's done nothing since San Diego and did nothing before San Diego.

Anyway Ana is just much much better player.

Kim gave credit to Peng for playing outstanding tennis, maybe you should just get over it and give her dues? Granted, and I accept, shes been in turmoil the past two years but winning a series of 75k challengers in 2004, progressing to a breakout year in 2005, a final in Strasbourg and beaten by Vaidisova, you can't say she's done nothing. She just hasn't hit her peak yet. I find your attitude quite rude. If you don't like Peng then fine, just don't belittle her. :wavey:

I don't belittle Peng. I just say Ivanovic is in completely different league. These two can't be compared. Tier III final is no achievement for player of Ana's caliber. It is an achievement for Peng though, that's right.

I think it will be a close match.
Peng hits the ball down the line from both sides very cleanly esp. off her backhand. Her serve has improved a lot. Her weakness is her footwork that can put her in defensive positions. But I think she's been working hard on her movement esp.with the help of Michael chang.
Ana serves well and follows by a strong forehand with a winner. But her movement is not that well.

look at the rankings. Ana is Top-20, has been to two Tier I finals, reached Slam QF. Peng is Top-40 and has been to tier III final once. Wow!

Petrova retired cos of heatstroke.
And if you believe that Myskina a la 2005 (esp. the first half of 2005) was real No.3 you're :weirdo:
