I remember somebody doing a list like this a couple of years ago, and I really enjoyed it. Since nobody seems to do it now, I thought I would start...

Below is a list of players who have beaten a top twelve player this year...of course the player's rank at the time of loss is used.

Why top 12? Because it seems this year, the tour has a group of players that shuffle between the 12-9 spots so often, I thought it made more sense!

Wins over top twelve players (retirements count, walkovers don’t) (order in each group done roughly by current WTA ranking):

After tomorrow, either Henin will join the elite group of 2007 with 4 wins...or Kuznetsova will take her first top 12 scalp of the year. I love both players...but c'mon JuJu!

When did Jankovic defeat Jankovic in Sydney SF? That seems fairly impossible.

Lucie has an impressive resume thus far in 2007.

Lucie with the most impressive wins. But Amelie actually has 2 wins over Anna (you forgot the one in Antwerp), so she leads. The win in Paris was in the quarters, I think.

Anna C was ranked 13 in the world during Antwerp, so just missed the cut for counting. Impressive memory though :)
