If the GOP had shown half this much spine and gumption over the
past 6 years...they may not be a 1 vote minority.

Frist, that's what you were supposed to do as majority leader...what
McConnell just did as minority leader - he fought.

Win or lose, the guy pulled out every stop to pressure the GOP
senators, the Democratic senators, and asked them if they really
wanted to say no to Bush, do it with a bill that counts for something -
not window dressing, and hot hiding that their No vote was really
a Yes to the exact same things Bush proposed.

The non-binding, meaningless, yet powerful message to our enemies
and troops, has moved to the House, where it should go through w/less
trouble.....to say the House does not support the (already in progress)
surge of troops (mostly already stationed in Iraq).....Bush puts forth.

Uh, okay.

Why did McConnell finally step up to fight Reid with the filibuster
maneuvers, with the 60 vote demand, with the individual vote
demands....the same thing the Democrats have done for 6 years?

If you want the troops out, bring them home, lock-stock-and barrell.
Don't 'redeploy' them, that's nonsense. Don't send them back anywhere
in the Middle East either.

While we're at, let us please end our occupation of South Korea, Japan,
England, Italy, Germany, Phillipines, Guam, Greenland, etc.

I am definitely for that.
