I think this is how Tati should play all of her matches from now on. Granted, Kata was playing sucky tennis but Tati was a tad more aggresive than usual which is good. She still stood 8957647m behind the baseline but her forehand was a killer tonight . And also the serve is working too. 5 aces but %in is only around 60% which was good enough anyhow. And she looks really good!

I think she implements the "put her opponent's head under water" rule tonight LOL. She was just relentlessly hitting everything to Kata's forehand, knowing it'd fall apart.

On the other news, Tati successfully defended her 25 points from last year. Though I think she'd get 35 points this year. Back to #21 behind Bepa. If she wins again tomorrow, she'd be #19. (#18 if Bepa loses)

Very nice attitude at the end of the match. Tomorrow we will have an overview about her physical conditions. That's really what impresses me with Anna Chakvetadze, she seems tiredless while she is rallying much. I hope Tati will show that she is at her level.

She's done a good tournament so far. But it may be time to show that she is not only a prospect but a top player. We will see her determination tomorrow. I want her to go more to the net, that's necessary if she wants to win.

Have a good rest Tati :)

I want her to go more to the net, that's necessary if she wants to win.Sometimes she needs to be more aggressive, but going to net? No thanks :tape::lol: She wasn't born to volley lol...

When she wants, she can be very effective at the net especially with her top spin volleys. ;) Given that she is tired, she doesn't really have other choices than shorten the points, unless she has some hidden resources or a good rest.

i heard she looked tired, she'll need lots of rest against Kim.

maybe Kim will play shitty like in the semis of the Aussie Open this year. Tati said she wants to play the top players, and she usually does well against them. hopefully Tati can take Kim out in front of her home crowd.

well I've seen just the first four games and I don't think she looked tired, it was more like...ummm...as if she couldn't find her rhythm:shrug:
...I hope the same;)...maybe it's better she plays Kim and not Ana, against whom she always sucks...

Sometimes she needs to be more aggressive, but going to net? No thanks :tape::lol: She wasn't born to volley lol...

well still better than Chaky who really sucks at the net, her volleys today were just pathetic:rolleyes: ...anyway, tho' Tati really wasn't born to volley, she can develop a decent level I believe...

She'll have almost a day off to rest until her match, so she'll have plenty of time to recover

Tati needs to stop hitting dropshots. They almost always hit the bottom of the net or land in the middle of the court.

Not so sure about that, she just needs to stop hitting bad dropshots ;) She had some really great ones against Patty,

Against Schnyder she went 32 times to the net and won 28 points ;)
And she only went 3 times against Liky :o

Exactly :yeah:

Of course she shouldn't come in all the time, but she could finish so many rallies off a lot earlier.

:yeah: I second that, technically, she can really hit some amazing ones, the problem is rather the mental side of it - once she hits a bad one, she gets nervous and tries to hit the next one better at all costs but usually doesn't because of her nervosity, so she keeps on trying like forever and only gets pissed...she should learn to let it go and not try to hit a good dropshot at all costs...

And she only went 3 times against Liky :oBut the big part of those 28 points she won (about 25) were winners from short balls not proper volleys. (Dunno if you actually understand what I'm trying to explain, but my english is pretty bad xDD)

:awww: That really wasn't good from Tati. I just wish she would stop throwing matches away. If you're gonna lose, go down fighting :(
But well, I'm very happy that she took advantage of her draw and made semis!
I hope she plays Memphis and wins :rocker2:

She will probably never get a better chance for beating Kim...

I would have sold this tournament for a SF a week ago though :)
Some great wins. Good job Tati :yeah:

That's just not true, in that case she would have lost the second to love.

Horrible match from both players.

I'm glad Tati lost in two sets rather then losing in her typical fashion in three sets with either a choke or tank or both involved.

Still an excellent week for her.

I'm soo sad because Tati had a great chance :( I think the crowd played for KIm tonight. Obviously that's difficult to fight when a giant crowd booes you and claps each time you do a mistake.. But finally it's better to loose like this than in 3 close sets.. Hopefully you'll go to Memphis and win a few matches there !

that was a little disappointing. i actually hope she skips memphis now. in these last two matches, she seems to have lost some focus. today, it was 4-4 and all of a sudden, she gets impatient and starts to rush things. and at the end of the match, she can't get a ball over the net.

but, yeah, it was still a very good week.

:awww: ...

Tatiana did fight, when she was broken in the 2nd set, she tried to come back but she wasn't able to. Kim just played great today. I hope she'll win tomorrow.

Anyway, great tournament for Tatiana, because she could be out in the 2nd round.

The belgium crowd isn't that fucking as you said... That's natural, Kim's Belgium, moreover, it's the last time she plays here, they want her to win. Some crowds are more horrible IMO.

too bad she lost, sounds like she had her chances to win the first set.

hopefully if she plays memphis she's not too tired and does well. good week her Tati, the best part was saving all those match points against Patty.

Pity that Tati didn't win the first set, she played well till 4-2, oh well, still very good tournament for her, especially that she was veeery close to losing to Schnyder.
I hope she'll learn from today's match.

another good thing about this week is that i think Tati's backhand is getting stronger.

after watching her matches this week it seems shes getting more depth on it and hitting more winners off her backhand. hopefully it gets even better in the future.

well I've seen just the first four games but as far as I can remember, she hit something like 3 FH winners to 2 BH ones and the number of UEs was like 2 from each side, so her BH was not that bad tonight...well but it's just first four games, right?;)
Anyway, congrats to Kim and best of luck 2morrow:)
