Brie :rocker:

True!

But honestly, it's totally outrageous that Brie earned 1 WTA ranking point just for showing up and getting double-bagelled by a local wild card. :tape: If she keeps getting into WTA qualies, she could become a top-500 player without winning a single point in a match. That's sick. :p

and with the new points system, I think that is what she will do ;) But I doubt she will become top 500. I think that she will get into qualifying events like Bangalore, Rabat, Acapulco, Bogota, Seoul and other events like that (especially the ones where there are 3 in one week). The WTA really can't do anything to make this not happen, however they just made Brie have to spend WAY more money and make it a bit more difficult for her to get a rank.

I agree with having bagel players in the draw. It at least replaces byes as much as possible and gives players a "warm up match" ;) :) I would rather see a poor draw with no byes than a poor draw with byes.

That's a good point. But how bad do you have to be to get double-bagelled by some local nobody that Banglaore brought in to fill in the draw? Brie's got to be a whole new level of BAD. :tape:

btw, for the record, Brie did get into the qualies in Rabat last year. She lost in the first round to Samia Medjahdi, 1-6 0-6. No doubt she'll be back there again this year, highly encouraged by that one game she won. ;) Money for global travelling does NOT seem to be a problem for our Brie.

Brie is a poor player, probably with no backhand or consistent groundstrokes. But there are many others like her (have you seen Amy Dillingham - mind you she has become a bit more consistent). Also, keep in mind that Brie has 4pts to defend in Stanford qualies, where she managed to beat local alternate Diamond Jackson 63 64. (So just imagine how bad Jackson must be).

I have a feeling it was the "useless" Anne Schaefer....

I have seen Anne Schaefer Sr play by the way, and she isn't THAT bad, but she just has no weapons. She plays as if she is in a practice session and so she continuously just hits back to her opponent (she lost to Subbadharmi Sundaram 6-3 6-2 or something like that).
