 but its tough to fly from Tokyo to Paris in such a short space of time and be fully prepared, i think she felt the effects of that last year after she lost to Schnyder and looked fairly drained, get better soon anyway if its an injury lena

the time difference, plus weather...is bad for the body.

it is good she pulled out.

Shame, but I think she was insane to believe she could go from Melbourne to Tokyo to Paris in successive weeks and not suffer any effects.

Oh squittery ,smelly, toilet blocking POO! thats a shame!

Shes had her leg taped up and I think there may be a minor problem she doesnt wanna aggravate.

AS for looking skinny ,well in the last photos I saw , shes looked in amazing condition ,solid muscle.

Nathalie Dechy takes her place in the main draw et Alizé Cornet takes the Wc !

I'm so sad for Elena  After Kim and Flavia ... :(

Elena played Hong Kong, Sydney, AO and Tokyo.
She should never have entered this.
Like I said, she will do a blog entry for today.

Last year, she played the GDF (singles and doubles) after winning the PPO - but she had only played 1 match in Australia while this year she played 6. So withdrawing does make sense, even if the injury (hopefully) isn't that serious.

Get well soon, Lena.

I love seeing her groundstrokes on that slow, purpleypink carpet in Paris.

Ah well, Golovin and Mauresmo are there.

Emilie Loit will replace her.

That's interesting. As I know, she didn't withdrew due to "injuries" in her SF against Hingis.

That's telling me something about her heart and determination:clap2: , unlike someone else

Well , I hope she replaces GDF with another tier 2 more weak than Paris , maybe Doha , Amelia Island or Shanghai.

Good decision for me

Yes, even if it's green clay, it'd be better for her to get as much practice on clay this year as possible. She should do the American clay season.

Is a shame i think if she had lost early in Melbourne like last yr she could have done it .. but she had later round loses the 2 weeks before so its just 2 much in 2 short a time..

Sounds like her recurring groin/thigh area is the culprit.

I sometimes wonder why she just doesn't do a preventive taping/wrap all the time since it seems to crop up every couple of months.

She's played with it before, so I hope it's not serious and it's question of it being a minor injury coupled with too much travel time that made her pull out.

Although sometimes I do wonder what's going on in her pretty blonde head when she makes up her schedule.

The real question: when will she blog for us again? ;)

This is probably not a bad injury. She didn't mention it in her Tokyo blogs.
