Soon tho, w/ Vaidi, janko, ivano, peer, chak and serena advancing, tis only a matter of months.

I hope a more deserving player replaces her soon... She plays such an unimaginative game... hot the same ball 100 times.

i bet she will.

They all play an unimaginative game aside from a very, very spare few.

And no, she defended most of her points.

As much as i dont want her to, she will in a few months as the younger girls just behind her dont have to really defend anything

She got 300 points for winning last year. She gets 195 for her semifinal this year. Not that big a difference

Blah blah blah

Every season the same story and Elena is still top 10 since September 2003. :p

QF in Paris, SF in Antwerp, F in Indian Wells--the rest of the indoor carpet season can be improved upon, and she has a decent shot at maintaining most of her IW points. That's most of her tough points to defend anyway. It's just clay and grass where she struggles more, and she doesn't have many points to defend there anyway.

Hope I'm wrong, but expect her to fall out of top 10 before end of year. Too many young, hungry and improving girls right behind her. Elena is not improving. Also, we know Serena is very capable of moving ahead of her.

Vaidisova should be able to at least take over Dementieva's #8 place, seeing as Nikki has 0 points to defend untill Amelia Island, and she's playing Paris, IW and Miami.

This is right.. even she is free to do what she wants to be on the top as any girl sure would do the same if they can be healty and can be playing for long times without physics troubles..

Petrova has a lot of points to defend. (Five titles worth)

just wondering do u take great please in kicking players when they are down?

Every thread I have seen created by you is negative

i.e this one

your stupid one on Dementieva is 6-7 since Zurich 2006

the infamous " Our overexcited Aussie friends.." thread where u bunched us all together as one with claims that we all thought Stosur would win the AO and then you put your boot in

actually do u make any threads or posts that are positive?

Dementieva has been in the top ten for almost 42 months now.
Everytime it appears she might be going out of the top 10, she brings her level of play up.
She'll do it again.
I'm pretty sure she knows that once she's out of the top 10, she's probably not coming back.

Was it you who posted that everytime that Hantuchova might be going out of the top 20, she brings her level of play up and stay in the top 20 again? I know it really isn't important who posted this, I was just curious. :wavey:

position 5-10 are pretty close.

there will be some exhange on it this couple of months.

however, that depends on how consistent jankovic, ivanovic, anna c, safina, vandisova are.

oh ya, lets not forget to reserve a place for serena williams ;)

so i think this year top 10 might see many young guns, depending on their consistency

So far, she has defended her 2006 points for AO plus Tokyo.
It's a long year, and we'll see if Lena can get to the YEC for the 8th straight year.

lecciones

I hope she stays in the top 10 till the YEC :P she is a very nice polite and soft spoken player :D and I like that a lot :D

unfortunately i doubt she will remain there for very long. too many people know the way to beat her and can do it on a consistent basis

elena will lose 214 points till Anvers, she will have 1799 pts.Vaidisova who is playing Paris is only 17 points behind.

QF in Paris 49 points = her 17th best result. Don´t lose points in Paris

SF in Antwerp 88 points = 88-49 for her 17th best result, then Lena loses 39 points

204 points you say

Outside of a couple decent wins in Moscow, Dementieva hasn't played like a top 10 player since L.A. It mostly depends on her...I think she falls out of the top 10 soon unless she picks it up a notch.
