maria is really begging for someone to beat her. ana is capable but quite inconsistent herself.

it will be an ugly match.

either one will be a grudge match for hingis in the finals (hopefully of coz) :)

I think Maria is slowly improving if she can drop her DF's a little again and step up her ground game she should win it in a tough battle.

I say Ana in three sets. I wouldn't predict that but Schiavone and Sugi took sets from Maria. So, Ana can do also. Even better. I think Ana is playing well since she broke up with her coach. Also Maria scares a little bit from Ana. When Maria beat Zvonareva in melbourne,she said after the match she beat Ivanovic easily so I expected a great match from her. So, that means Maria knows what she has to expect from Ana.

I'm going to be optimistic and go out on a limb: Ana in three sets. :angel: Ana is the like a female Andre Agassi. At least her play reminds me of him.

I don't think either really have supermodel-level faces, but Big Masha has the supermodel level body.

Maria is going to have her serve broken because she is double faulting without acing. How is she going to break Ana's serve more than once or twice a set? I don't see it happening the way that Ana has been playing. I have a feeling Ana's going to take this one, but I know Maria will get back to championship form soon enough.

Agreed. Maria is serving pretty poor so far this year and as a result she's going to have to grind out her matches until she can straighten out her serve. She's moving far better than she ever has so far, but her serve appears to have left the building. The match appears to be a 3-setter with Maria, who is the more experienced player, the likely winner. However, with her serve not being up to par and Ana coming on as a young talent, wouldn't be surprised at the upset.
