Forehand. ;P

My forehand, by miles. It's the only thing in my game I'm really proud of, the rest needs a LOT of work. My backhand is okay, but my serve/volleys...:help:

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:03 AM
Backhands are much easier for me. Using two hands helps so much with control. I run around to get to it as much as possible.

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:03 AM
My forehand is really good when it's on. Especially my forehand down the line. I'll just go for winners and they'll all go in. It's amazing! I just wish it were on more often :bigcry:

Lol exact same thing for me. My movement is also great though.

generally my forehand but it can go awful! In fact my game even is perfect or awful because I hit the ball so flat! but my volleys are very poor

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:05 AM
my forehand is my best (and only:sad: ) weapon i can do very good angles and winners, my backhand when its on its on, i make a lot of DF, and my second serve is slower than pin's, i dont know how to volley and how to slice, im so one dimentional:p

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:06 AM
Slice followed by forehand. Although my backhand slice has been much less potent lately.

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:09 AM
2H backhand is by far my biggest weapon. My FH is improving...when it's on I can do pretty much what I want with it. but when it's off :tape:

Volleys are solid, played lots of dubs so I'm confident enough to move forward.

My serve has deteriorated now that I'm out of high school and not practicing regulary or playing tournaments b/c I'm over 18  It used to be very good, but I've lost all confidence and form on it for now... :(

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:10 AM

Same for me when i'm playing well i just hit winners without even trying but when i play bad my whole game except my backhand falls apart. I have really good volleys though

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:13 AM
My backhand is a beauty. I have it all. Slices, moonballs, top spin, side spin, hard-flat shots. You name it, my backhand can produce it. :yeah:

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:16 AM
My cross court two handed backhand

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:16 AM
Lol exact same thing for me. My movement is also great though.

Same. I'm really tall but I still move well, I can track down quite a bit of balls.

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:21 AM
Volleys
I just never come up to the net on the right shot :tape:
Which is why I love doubles ;) At the net with no problem!

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:49 AM
I think serve and forehand... My serve sets up the forehand.

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:50 AM
Im a typical kiwi player, best shots gotta be my forehand

No Name Face
Feb 1st, 2007, 01:53 AM
my forehand.
i have good natural volleying skills too.
HOWEVER, my serve :tape:
My overheads :tape:

i'd say more than any particular stroke, my biggest asset is my speed. i have ridiculous lateral movement (and front-back movement).

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:53 AM
Inside-out forehand, especially on weak serves. I love it so much! :hearts:

Then my backhand, then my serve, volleys, and lastly overheads. I struggle sometimes.

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:53 AM
Moonballs I guess haha...I'm good at running down balls and getting everything back and sometimes frustrating my opponent...though I do have a pretty good crosscourt forehand when I get it set up the way I like it.

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:55 AM
Forehand down the line :)
My overhead :help:

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:56 AM
My forehands are the best part of my game by a long way.

Feb 1st, 2007, 02:01 AM
FH..;) More explosive!!(can explode myself tho :o )

Feb 1st, 2007, 02:04 AM
Backhand, followed by my speed and defensive game.

Feb 1st, 2007, 02:08 AM
Forehand! :)

Feb 1st, 2007, 02:14 AM

My forehand. :)

Feb 1st, 2007, 03:01 AM
My forehand.

Feb 1st, 2007, 03:07 AM
Volleys by far I would say, and then serves and smashes.

Feb 1st, 2007, 03:11 AM
forehand and moonball

Feb 1st, 2007, 03:14 AM
My down-the-line backhand is my best shot.

Dementieva Guts
Feb 1st, 2007, 03:26 AM
I could be somewhat "better" by playing on clay. I always perform "well" by grinding my way out with sliced drop shots, moonballed my opponents to change the Goliath pace. I'm winning points by slicing the ball low. I try to not give pace to my opponents.

Feb 1st, 2007, 03:32 AM
My two-handed forehand is definitely my bread and butter shot; it's absolutely wow! :hearts: I don't know what happened to my serve, it used to be the best part of my game. Unfortunately, it just disappeared all of last year. My one-handed backhand is getting very good too.

Feb 1st, 2007, 05:25 AM
My two-handed backhand is my best shot, and I love to hit it down the line.

Feb 1st, 2007, 05:59 AM
forehand :)

Feb 1st, 2007, 06:05 AM
Backhand cross-court by far! Love playing those drop shots though ...

Feb 1st, 2007, 06:07 AM
backhand, followed by volleys...

Feb 1st, 2007, 06:10 AM
My backhand for sure. Its so hard and flat yet so consistant and it comes so naturally.

Feb 1st, 2007, 06:12 AM

Feb 1st, 2007, 06:14 AM
My first serve as soon as it's on but my backhand is quite erratic my forehand is ok :D

Feb 1st, 2007, 06:18 AM
my drop shot....

Feb 1st, 2007, 06:52 AM
my double handed forehand, it's the only part of my game that works.

Feb 1st, 2007, 07:23 AM
Forehand :) I have good volleys and drop shot also.

Feb 1st, 2007, 07:55 AM
forehand. i can put it anywhere and dominate rallys with it. plus i can do the wicked looking squash slice shot with it

Feb 1st, 2007, 07:58 AM
my backhand for sure, i can hit alot of winners with it and its more consistent than my forehand

my overheads:help:they always find the net, ALWAYS

Feb 1st, 2007, 07:59 AM
well my best shot is my one-handed backhand. I've learned the technique from Justine and it looks a lot like hers both in technique and power
my forehand is good but not as good as my backhand... if a ball is high and near the net I don't finish the point with the forehand, but I turn around the ball so as to take it with my backhand!!!

Feb 1st, 2007, 08:04 AM
Forehand, it's a great shot when it's on but if i rush, the timing is off or my feet aren't in the right position then it goes off.

Feb 1st, 2007, 08:11 AM
Forehand, it's a great shot when it's on but if i rush, the timing is off or my feet aren't in the right position then it goes off.

Same here

But my second serve is :help: :(

movemetn should be o the options cus thats by far the best part of ma game, but out of the options my forehand is good

Feb 1st, 2007, 09:41 AM
It's a toss between my Second serve, forehand and half volley. These three shots I feel I hit very well.

I am extremely confident in my second serve and am at the point where it is not uncommon for me to go through matches without a single double fault.
It is usually a kick serve, but I will sometimes throw in a slice just to mix it up.

My forehand is the staple of my game. I play about half of the ad court (and obviously the entire duece court) with my forehand. I get pretty good pace on it and can handle topspin, slice, pace, slow balls off that wing. It's also pretty consistent and I can change direction from cross court to up the line off hard hit balls.

My half-volley is the shot I really enjoy hitting. I don't know how I got good at this shot because I NEVER practise it. I love digging up that ball after my opponent has blasted a return to my feet.

Feb 1st, 2007, 09:47 AM
Mine is forehand..
but nearly same good are: lob, slice, moonballs
I use a lot of top spin..sometimes too much..and I`m angry with myself not being able to finish off the rally with a flat shot..

Feb 1st, 2007, 09:50 AM
Forehand for sure. I'm very confident with it. Follow by volley. My backhand is very ordinary. My serve is :help:, i'm trying so hard to improve it however the speed stills seems to be similar to a tap. Also i cant half volley to save my life...:fiery:

My forehand for sure. It needs some work, but if I have it up and running. It's a killer

Feb 1st, 2007, 11:54 AM
Forehand's dominating :p

Feb 1st, 2007, 12:05 PM
my 2-handed BH is my best shot!
it's flat, accurate, powerful and I love it. I can hit nice dropshots and lobs with this shot too

My FH can be a weapon but I can make more mistakes too
My serve is in progress recently because I'm learning the kick second serve

Volleys are awful and I hate going to the net
Movement is great: I'm the fastest in my club

Feb 1st, 2007, 12:43 PM
my forehand and backhand. Both very powerful and agressive.
But I just can't volley , it's a shame...

Feb 1st, 2007, 12:46 PM
backhand :p

Feb 1st, 2007, 12:56 PM
My two-handed backhand is my best shot. I make many winners with this shot when I don't need to run a lot to reach the ball. If I do I return the ball to the other side not so agressive but usually with control so it's not easy for my opponent to hit this ball. I can also do slices using backhand(one-handed).
My forehand is OK but it doesn't have variety(only spins and lobs) and I have less control.
My volleys are :help: . But my drive-volleys are rather good.
Half a year ago my main weapon was my serve. But when my coach decided to change my technique now it's awful.:o I haven't learnt new technique yet and lost an old one(which wasn't right but very effective).

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:01 PM
my backhand backhand is my most reliable shot, but my forehand wins me matches.

also, i'm a good mover/volleyer (#1 in the state in doubles).

my slice is getting better, and i've been known to hit some sick drop shots.

my weaknesses are really my serve and my shot selection sometimes.

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:02 PM
oh i forgot.

moonballs!!1!!!!11 <333333

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:33 PM
My lob's are really good, with spin in em'.. It surprises my opponents, and thats why they can't just smash the ball back on court :) love em'

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:58 PM
forehand...but my BH volleys are better

backhand is either good or sh*te...depends on the day :o

Feb 1st, 2007, 01:58 PM
serve and backhand

also the drop-shots are good in some day....

Feb 1st, 2007, 04:24 PM
My forehand is is my strongest. I can hit it hard and flat or put some spin on it to keep it in. I have more control on that side than my backhand. I just feel very uncoordinated with my backhand. I always wonder why so many professionals, such as Venus and Serena have trouble with their forehand shot and their backhand is their strongest shot. I don't get it.

I also volley really well. My drop shots are shit though.

backhand, although my forehand is starting to click ;)

Feb 1st, 2007, 04:38 PM
Me 6'2" and 200+ pounds.

Me love to smash puny ball hard. Me laugh when it bounce high--HWAR HWAR HWAR!

Me love overhead. Me not like subtle shots. Overhead, Me like a lot.

My forehand is my best shot. It's flat, hard, consistant and accurate, most of the time. :P

I'm a little less confident in my 2 handed backhand, but my favourite winner is double handed backhand DTL. But it's a good shot when it gets going, i use a bit more topspin on it.

Serve is going great at the moment, but i'm injured at the moment with lower back.

I love to hit a few drop shots too, vary the play.

Good serve, good volley, good forehand - rather not so good: backhand:sad:

Feb 1st, 2007, 05:53 PM
Lobs, drop shots and sliced BH are the only shots I really do well. I've got a Mauresmo-esque game (really not proud of it) and I'm nasty as hell, a la Hingis.
I've got a great movement too. In fact I'm not talented at all

Feb 1st, 2007, 05:59 PM
and I'm nasty as hell, a la Hingis.

how so?:wavey:

Feb 1st, 2007, 06:09 PM
My backhand, for sure! I can hit it flat, with topspin, with slice, and I hit a really good drop shot off that side...my forehand is much less of a weapon, and can really only do damage when I'm on the run:confused:

Feb 1st, 2007, 06:11 PM
My serve, when it's working, is probably my best shot. I can vary the placement well and I can mix it up by throwing in the odd slider/kick serve.

My backhand is more consistent than my forehand, but my forehand is the shot that I'm more likely to win the rally with. I love hitting it on the run

My slice has improved over the last few months, though it's still mainly a defensive shot. I'm trying to develop an effective slice approach at the moment. I've certainly got a lot more power than touch, but I can play some good lobs/drop shots.

My conventional volleying is horrid. :help:

However, my drive volleying has really come on, especially on the backhand.

Feb 1st, 2007, 06:13 PM

I'm playing a bit like Lisa Raymond, but I'm taller and faster;)

Feb 1st, 2007, 06:15 PM
I have no talent, but I have good hands at net; I like volleying and drop shots. Other than that...I double fault a lot (it's so easy to hit winners from my serve :(, first or second), my backhand is very weak, and I hit my forehand with too much topspin since if I try to hit it flat, it hits the net 99 percent of the time or goes out, so it's hard for me to hit winners off that side.

I'm male and there's no way I could beat any female in the top 100.

I've always been better at badminton anyway.

Feb 2nd, 2007, 03:32 AM
Backhand (double handed) down the line with topspin or backhand (single handed) lob across court..

Feb 2nd, 2007, 03:37 AM
Well when I was playing I had a killer forehand, crosscourt or DTL and even more wicked, my two-handed backhand crosscourt (had problems with it DTL for some reason.

Serve was ok and I sucked at volleys ( I was swinging forehand volleys before Andre:lol: ) and slices.

Feb 2nd, 2007, 03:39 AM
Always had killer groudies.

My peers and hitting partners all learned to hit the ball with a fair amount of topspin from an early age, while i always stuck to flat strokes...little spin and just cranking it into the corners.

My Forhands prone to break down on me in tight situations...i tend to overhit the forhand alot....My serve is a fairly reliable one...pretty flat as will with a bit of a kicker.

Backhand is my specialty, its the one shot i can count on to save me in rallies. If im stretched out wide on the forhand i can always step into my backhand knowing im gonna nail it in either corner...its a great feeling to rip one down the line, or inside out....People say mybackhand is just as if not harder than most pros...which i completely agree with...im not a pro but i have played against many many semi pro player/ juniors and i can hit with em' fine.

no intimidation, thats the key, go in there and play your game, dont focus on the other person...doesnt help anyways!

Feb 2nd, 2007, 03:43 AM

Having two hands gives me more control of the ball seeing as i just hit it as hard as i can on every shot

Feb 2nd, 2007, 04:14 AM
Forehand and backhand slice are my main "weapons". I don't have any stroke that REALLY stands out as a clear weapon. I prefer to use every stroke to win points, but I'm pretty dominant of the forehand. My BH slice is still a work in progress, but when I hit it correctly not many people can take it. But about half time it's too short or doesn't stay low enough. Sometimes I hit the frame and the ball just crashes down on my side of the court.
