All four quarters in one day? Since when? The Australian is set up like the US Open. And Wimbledon and French mirror one another.

I guess the day starts at 11am in Melbourne, which is 7pm the night before in NY... So, that is MIDNIGHT, same day in the UK... MORNING!!!

oh- AND, I think the quarters are split, and then they play BOTH semis on Thursday. I could be wrong- but the only one to play all 4 quarters on Tuesday is Wimbledon.

Only the bottom-half quarter-finals are on Tuesday's order of play (http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/scores/schedule/), which is a blessed relief for me because I still have fanship-interest in both halves of the draw!
Top-half quarter-finals on Wednesday, then.

This kinda sucks, cuz the ones who will play quarters on Wednesday, will not have one day off to rest for the semis, like the ones who play Tuesday...

If it were up to me:
every Grand Slam would play the two halves of the draw on alternate days up to (and not including) the semi-finals;
no player would ever have to play two singles-matches on consecutive days, even if there is a backlog! If this would mean some Grand Slams extending well into the third week, then so be it - the Grand Slams are the crown-jewels of the tennis-calendar.--
