Very high percentage tennis.
No risky shots from Hingis

So odd, Dechy came soooo close to reaching the AO final two years ago...now she's being crushed by someone in her second year after a three year gap...how the times have changed.

What's most encouraging is Hingis' serve. She's not having the same first serve percentage as last year, and she's double faulted more this match than all of last years tournament, but her serve is certainly stronger now than even six months ago. That's a good sign.

If Hingis wins this match with the same authority and confidence, she could be some threat to reach the quarters

I think it was too soon to open the thread. Dechy may still surprise Martina.

I find it so frustrating to hear reports on the match and how well Hingis played from those posters overseas, when i didn't even get coverage of this match as part of the Aussie Open, me being an Aussie and none of the Aussie networks showing it! :fiery:

Believe me, I created the thread with the title you see.
I did after watching the first set.
You missed some wonderful match.
Maybe they will re-show it there.
If they do and you watch it , you will understand why all these praises.

That is pretty bad... Eurosport showed the whole thing, including interviews and stuff :)

Martina was totally in control from the first point to the last, she looked so confident and was just flowing throughout the match. Beautiful performance.

Dechy was poor though. Martina didn't really allow her to play.

Thanks for the reports! :D

Sometimes if the night matches are short, they show replays from that day but seeing Lleyton will no doubt make his match go to 5 sets just so he can be on TV for longer, i don't think i'll get to see anything tonight.
