Very good win. Schnyder is probably the most tricky player an upcoming player can meet and it always takes a couple of matches to figure out how to play her. And Peer got it. I'm impressed by her results. She certainly has the mentality and the spirit to be in the top 10. We'll see how her game progresses.

2007 will be a great year for shahar. she's got a great game with few weaknesses. i wouldn't be surprised to see her take a few seeds down at the open this year. the top players better not take her too lightly.

meh Patty would have lost to Clijsters anyway so in the fragile mind of Patty there wasn't much point making a fight out of it close to the Aus Open.

Peer is a good player though so it's not that bad.

Schnyder hasn't played well in Sydney for years - not so bad for her to get to Melbourne.

I was looking at GM and noticed that, in just a few minutes, you bumped something like 10 match score threads (some of them a few days old and long buried), in most cases merely to add a :D or :sad: smilie.

You should think twice before clogging GM with useless chaff such as this - all the more so considering you're a mod.
