They only played once. It was last year at Indian Wells. Dementieva won in R16 6-3 6-2.

Na beated Schiavone in 2 sets at previous round. Dementieva defeated Sugiyama in 3.

Vote ;)

Hard to say. Dementieva has a more regular game. I think it would depend on Na. Dementievas serve ever is a chance for her opponents. Na also is a great returner. Don think its important their previous match, because of Nas kind of game (you know, she can lose with Castano, and next match win against Schiavone).

I would say Na 6-3 6-4 or something like this

lena in straights, she's already had her match to get adjusted to the conditions and already had her bad serving day

Na can do what Elena does except with a FAR better serve and more power. It's just a matter of consistency.

pcr tennis, i think their games are quite different... the power Na uses is very flat... Dementieva applies more spin to her strokes making them nonetheless, quite heavy. Dementieva is definently a much better defender then Na, and she is also 10 times more patient, which could lead to another error-fest from Na (which she can be known for). I think if Na Li is on key she will prevail... she hits very flat and hard which works well on the hardcourts.

Good luck Na, it will be a great match ;)

Last time I saw Li play she was garbage (Rogers Cup, 2006). I hope Lena doesn't pitter about and gets it done in two.

I agree, that Na hit's flatter but they both like to be aggressive and I also agree that Dementieva is steadier in general but they both move very well and like to be aggressive from the baseline. But Na hits a harder heavier ball and when she's on (like you say) she should win. But Dementieva fights so hard in every match so it will be a tough match.
