Camille PIN: that "small size" competitor is doing her maximum to face "power hitters new generation" and made it pretty well last week. She performed her 3rd career WTA semi final at Auckland ousting 8th seed/n44 Perry en route before losing to eventual winner Top seed/n12 Jankovic.

Marina ERAKOIC: this is the best talent in New Zealand and benefited from a WC at Auckland Tier IV last week. She reached the 2nd rd with a convincing victory over n90 Tu before falling in a tight 3 sets match vs 7th seed/n36 Daniilidou.

Sophie FERGUSON: that still young australian is starting the year up 13 places from her best former best ranking after reaching the 2nd round at Gold Coast Tier III upsetting 8th seed/n26 Sugiyama before losing to compatriot n29 Stosur.

FASTER MOVEMENTS IN THE TOP 10, 20, 30, 50, 100, 150 and 200

TOP 10:
Dinara SAFINA n10 (+1): Dinara is back to the Top 10 after winning her 5th career WTA title last week at Gold Coast Tier III upsetting Top seed/n7 Hingis in fa thrilling 3 sets final. dnanra has also the privilege to be n1 at the race this week!

Top 20:
Shahar PEER n18 (+2): Shahar is one of the Top 10 pretender this year. she started the season up 2 places after reaching the semi final at Gold Coast Tier III where she lost to eventual winner 2nd seed/n11 Safina. She lost after winning the 1rst set and losing the second at the tie break only.

Top 50:
Emilie LOIT n47 (+9): That french player is back to the Top 50 after reaching the QF at Auckland Tier IV ousting 4th seed and last year winner n18 Bartoli in straight sets before falling to surprising compatriot n75 Pin.

Top 100:
Camille PIN n61 (+14): see above.

TOP 150:
Yvonne MEUSBURGER n125 (+10): Yvonne stated the season with prety smart results reching the 2nd at Auckland Tier IY as a qualifer. She ousted n76 Bychkova in the main draw before losing to eventual semi finalist n75 Pin.

TOP 200:
Paola SUREZ n154 (+24): The road to her former Top 10 ranking is merely unreachable (n9 in 2004). Howevre, at 30 y.o, Paola is back to the compettion full of pleasure and surely expectations. Last week, she made it to the QF at Auckland Tier IV upsetting 6th seed/n34 Muller en route before falling to another veteran 32 y.o and n70 Craybas.

How about you mention Vesnina and comment on how fast she's risen up the rankings. I'm so peeved that everyone just ignors her... last year she lept over 50 places and no one cared.

Concerning Elena V, she's rising steadily in the world ranking without making a lot of noise! However, it's going to be interesting to follow her this year and analysing how she'll cope with her new status as Top 50 player. For sure, her opponent will take care before facing her.
I don't know why she's not more under the media lights all the more she's a very attractive blond player;)
