Was it an "I can't go on" injury?

Because otherwise...who does she think she is retiring a game away from losing? Alexandra Stevenson?

I'm sure it must have been permitting her from being able to play.

Vika's not like that.

wow. vika's going to want to start to actually make a move up the rankings this year. she's 17 now and is barely inside the top 100. she really hasn't lived up to any kind of potential yet.

She's not the kind of giving up easily. I watched her live already, and she was everything but that.

Rest up Vika, hope you can have a breakthough at AO nonetheless - about time you join your former junior rivals at the top 30.

No, it wasn’t at all like that. Despite the fact she was obviously in a fair bit of pain, she tried to play on for a game, albeit heavily impeded.

She also had a few shocking calls going against her, especially in the first set.

ditto.

Vika . But playing 2 matches in one day doesn't help either.

The only time i ever say Her play was when she played for the US Open Juniors against Glatch.. and she seemed to be a major bitch... and very annoying.... Yelling come on after pretty much EVERY POINt, literally.. most on Alexa's errors... It was ridiculous... :o

 she was unlucky about the weather and having to play this match after her match against Shvedova went to 7-6 in the 3rd :o
