I was doing home work and checked the score on livescore.com: Shahar was leading 6:4 5:1 and I was almost sure Dinara was going to lose. About 50 minutes later I checked again and couldn't believe my eyes: Dinara leading 4:6 7:6(1) 5:0 :eek: :bolt:

im surprised that they had a rain break.
i went on wednesday and it was raining fairly heavy in the morning and there is a large canvas roof over centre court.. im confused about how it got in.. must have been going sideways :lol:

Well... at RG Sharapova just gave her the match. Don't about this match. But still there was a rain delay - that certanly hepled Dinara.about rain delays... In Montreal Dinara was in front in the 2nd set (4-3*) in the SF vs Ana and hasn't won a game after the play was resumed the next day. So it's not always the case with Dinara ;)

It was a match of two halves; Peer won the first set and stormed out to a 5-1 lead in the second, only to have her momentum halted one game later (after Safina held for 5-2) by a freak rainstorm that blew through the stadium then stopped play for five minutes as the court was dried. The match turned upon resumption and after two hours and 15 minutes, it was the Russian who prevailed.

"She was playing like No.1, I couldn’t believe it," Safina said. "Then, she had 64 51 and I just started going for my shots. I held serve then we had the rain break. I saw her and she seemed to be a little nervous, and I thought, this is it, I have to go for it. I suppose I was a little lucky, but my shots just started going in."

"I'm not happy; you can't be up 64 51, lose a match and be happy," Peer stated. "I didn't feel differently after the rain, but until 51 I was not missing anything and then I started missing. Maybe I lost concentration. I'll make sure I'm in this position again, I take advantage and close it out on my first service game."

I left my house when she was leading 5 2 second set and went happily to buy some clothes, came back 3 hours later to see the headlines one of the sport news websites in Israel "Painful loss for Shahar Peer" - SAY WHAT???

dinara is one of the greatest fighter in the game.

i think she fought back against maria in a similar scoreline in RG.
In Rome finals, even till the very end of the game, she was giving hingis trouble.

I don't think it's a choke... at all. I saw that match in RG and Dinara was able to hit the lines for about 6 games in a row. It was kinda fantastic!

And if so Peer could only lose...

Anyway bad lose for Shahar because rain delay screwed her game. Still a great tournament... She is a very good player that will get (i guess) several wins against top 10 players this year.
