I hope Myskina.

Really hard to tell. Vesnina could surprise us all if she wins the Gold Coast & knocks out several big names there as well as the AO. I'm just really guessing here but really anyone outside the Top 30 & below could surprise us.

Sammy 4 eva!!!

Viktoriya Azarenka.

She's just way too talented to be where she is in the rankings at the moment. She's surely got to break through soon.

I'm hoping Myskina gets it together and will surprise us there. Same for Capriati if she even comes back.

On the men's side, I'm hoping Federer surprises us by losing a match. That'd be a shocker.

Venus Williams will retire.
Miss Golovin will reach the semi-finals of the Aus Open.
J-J will do some damage, somewhere before March.

*I agree that Molik will suprise some people. Now that she's healthy again :)

*Mirza will hopefully be done with the 'sophomore slump' that often comes after a player has a breakthrough year

*Golovin put together some good tennis in patches ast year, when she was healthy, hopefully she can stay healthy

I expect Molik will do something in Sydney.

Hantuchova finished 2006 well and could continue on.

I have a feeling that Ivanovic will be playing top 5 tennis after all of the work she has put in. She looked great training with Martina.

if we're talking january, then probably lenaD because my expectations couldn't be any lower. :o

That made me laugh because I JUST had a dream last night that she was playing Hingis at the AO. It was a semifinal match and I remember Mary Carillo saying something about how Lena SUCKS on rebound Ace, and that she was the surprise of the tournament...but then I woke up. Not sure who won, Martina was ahead something like 6-2, 3-0...but I think LenaD was about to make her move ;)

Anyway, My predictions for the beginning of the year (muahahah):

Martina Hingis will win 2 of her 1st 4 events, beating Ana I. along the way in a thrilling 3 set match (not before the semis)!

Myskina will win a doubles title and make at least a final in January

Jelena Jankovic and Anna C. will both win titles before March 1st!

Serena will win a title

Venus will play before ST.Valentine's Day!!! :woohoo:

So mote it be...

I have just seen 1 more thing: Makiri will win more than 60% of her singles matches this year :wavey: and at least 1 GS doubles title with Masha...they MUST PLAY!!!! (muahahah)...

Jelena Janković at first :) :worship:

I think that Maria Kirilenko will have far better season than 2006., but nothing major...

Paola Suarez is going to say goodbye folks at the end of 2007., and I'm positive about her making some upsets and getting into top 30, or better :)

Ana Ivanović, if she stops thinking - First ball after the serve must be a WINNER  Plus shaping up her's serve, to get it in more times. It's not all in power Ana :o

Aleksandra Wozniak if she continues playing like in her '06 season end ;)

Ai will surprise people, because she won't have a horrible start like 2005 & 2006 :)

Martina will capture an AO trophy! She know's where her game stacks up against the others now. Her renewed commitment, much improved serve, and her awesome shot selection abilities will take her to the top once again this year.

Elena D. will make a move as well. I'm betting she received some advice on the only thing keeping her from becoming one of the all time best. Her serve is the only part of her game keeping her from doing so. It would be a damn shame if she hasn't!

Im thinking Myskina will do well in Auckland, perhaps by making the final or winning the entire tourney ... but then again you never know with Anastasia! AnnaC will hopefully win Hobart, and Martina should also make some noise as well!
