Does anyone know where she is and why she isn't playing since April?:confused::confused:

Her current ranking is 583   :tape: :help: and her last match was a 3-6,2-6 - loss to Virginie Pichet in Cagnes-Sur-Mer :tape: :tape:   :bigcry:

Is she injured?

I think she is injured, too. I liked her and would be happy if she's coming back in 2007  - because she is only 27:sad:

I remember she lead in Charleston 2005 5-1 in the first against Venus :tape: :help: - okay, Venus has often terrible starts:p

I saw her at Antwerp lose to Ondraskova, her second last match this year. I loved Denisa and was hoping for her to win. She looked kind of bored and tired and kept moonballing and hitting errors and was beating 62 60 or 60 62, I can't remember.

Yeah, she lost there very high:sad:   - Bored and Tired?  :bigcry:
Maybe she took a break and comes back very optmistic & fit (OMG I'm always so optmistic) :p

I saw Denisa before other times on TV and in real life and sometimes in matches she lost, she still smiled and looked as though she was enjoying herself. But here she didn't look angry or happy or anything. Maybe you're right. I later saw her doubles match with Jasmin Woehr against someone later on in the week and she still looked really bored.

So the only thing we can do is: Waiting or seeing whats going in the future:sad:

yes. She isn't very popular so there will be hardly any news unless we tried to find a way to contact Denisa or the Czech tennis federation. So yeah, I guess we can only wait.

She's had a long career, so perhaps she's called it a day.

A pretty good career. A good, solid striker of the ball, she got some good wins, and reached a Slam QF (Wimbledon) and was a pretty dangerous floater in any draw she was in :)

Yeah she was a solid player with a great one handed backhand. Nice haircout too. I think she beat Lindsay at Wimbledon before. :worship: That's an achievement.

Denisa had a one-handed backhand??? Am I mistaken now? I think she is two-handed.

This year not ;) She played 4 Wta-events this year (Sydney, AO, Antwerps and another one) and one challenger in april. But this challenger came also after a 2 months-break:confused:

yes she is/was two-handed for 100%

I hope she'll come back, she was a good player if she was on and also a nice person...

The last time I noticed her playing competitive matches was in September, when she competed in the Czech extraliga for TK Precolor Přerov.

Here are her results:
SINGLES
lost to Prusova 5-7 3-6
lost to Radwanska 1-6 3-6

DOUBLES
Chládková/Voráčová def. Gerlová/Kriegsmannová 1:6 6:4 1:0 ret.
Cetkovska/Strycova def. Chladkova/Voracova 6-4 6-2
Peschke/Radwanska def. Chladkova/Ondraskova 6-1 6-3

PICTURES

Look here, I think she's still with the same coach:confused:

I saw Denisa take a set off Capriati at the US Open.
But I don't have it on tape.

I saw her at Paris in 2004...and she's always kissing her old coach on the mouth before and after a match, so I dont know is he's her husband or her father
In my opinion, she was awful to watch...and her grunt was :tape: But solid striker...

I've always had fond thoughts of the great Denisa after her and her haircut inspired me to scribble the longest immature poem I've ever splattered on WTA world:kiss:

I am sooo a Chladkova fan, I have stated it on this board before!

Her gamestyle:

She has a flat takeback for her groundies, hit very solid and hard... but her game style is technichally flawed. Her forehand becomes a bit of a weakness because its flat and lacks control in long exchanges, her backhand however is more consistent.
She was certainly a hard worker on the court imo, I remember her match against Capriati also, she was well capable of striking the ball flat and hard, putting Capriati off for a set, then eventually Capriati won through.
