Is it possible for Venus to have good clay & grass seasons in the same year?

Just an observation! Seems to be one or the other!

In 02, she has a good clay season, a title on a tier 2 and a final of another tier 2 plus the Final of Rg, then at Wimbledon made the final and won the doubles, but other than that its either been one or the other shes done well at

Yes it is! Great clay season without an injury (did that ever happen?) would give her so much confidance for grass season where she can play even better!

In 2000 she reached the QF of RG before winning Wimbledon. I know that doesn't necessarily mean she had a good clay court season, but she did ok at the clay court slam, which is what really counts

Seems like Vee always gets injured at some point between the start of the clay season and the beginning of the summer hardcourts.

yes it is quite possible for venus to have a good clay season & a good grass season in the same year. i mean when she's on form & at her best she can pretty much beat nearly everyone on her day on any surface.

I don't know where the assumption comes from that venus isn't a good clay courter. She's one of the best on the tour, Definitely top 10 of anyone, and I think an argument could be made for top 5 of all the current players on tour. For whatever reason, venus seems to have a block at Roland Garros, I'm not sure what it is, or if the red clay in Paris is even slower than the clay in the rest of Europe, but her only real struggle seems to be Roland Garros.

I dont know.. cuz if she gets good on clay... her defence increases alot and she somehow forgets to leave her defence and bring her clay mode to wimbledon where she somehow loses cuz of that clay mode..

hopefully she committs herself to both this year and I think she'll be fine.

Maybe next year she will suck on purpose on clay, then go and win Wimbledon again...
