Of the players who won't be (or probably won't be) seeded I say the following people could be dangerous floaters at AO 2007 ...

Michaella Krajicek (unless she increases her ranking to a seed)
Eleni Daniilidou (unless she increases her ranking to a seed)
Meghann Shaughnessy (unless she increases her ranking to a seed)
Elena Likhovtseva
Venus Williams (if she plays)
Nathalie Dechy
Shuai Peng
Tsvetana Pironkova
Sania Mirza
Serena Williams
Alicia Molik

defo Serena, she was a 'floater' at the US open and beat two seeded players and took the world number 1 to three sets giving her a bagel, im sure none of the top women will want serena as a 1st round

Alicia Molik for sure. she always rises to the ocassion whenever she plays in Australia :D crowd always gives her that boost to succeed & she just gives 100% effort on the court.

Serena Williams. u can never underestimate her. no matter what condition she's in or what ranking she's at she's always determined to make a statement on the court & the 2007 AO will be no different.

I also reckon Vesnina, Peng, Kanepi, A.Radwanska & Sprem will be dangerous floaters apart from the two I just mentioned. I also forgot bout Venus, if she plays of course.

Serena will be the most feared unseeded player there. ;) :armed:
Rezai and Venus will also be serious threats. :yeah:

Others:
Eleni Daniilidou
Meghann Shaugnessy
Lucie Safarova
Shuai Peng
Vania King
Agnieszka Radwanska
Tsvetana Pironkova
Sania Mirza
Karolina Sprem
Iroda Tulyaganova
Alicia Molik

Oh yes, how could we forget Iroda! Also, Ashley could upset a player or two if she gets some confidence out of the Hopman Cup.

I forgot about Sprem as well. Mind you she will just miss the lines by about 2 metres so all her opponent has to do is keep the ball into play

An in-form Safarova is also very dangerous as we saw at Gold Coast 2006

true

but however i watched the 1st set of her match in 2004 berlin against venus that i downloaded & sprem was just outhitting venus all over the place  & never missed around 90% of the time.

just proves that if sprem keeps up her heavy hitting but adds consistency to her game then she can be very very dangerous.

Dangerous floaters are considered dangerous no matter what kind of draw they get.

I agree though, Iroda is a dangerous floater ...

In my opinion only Serena Williams and Alicia Molik should be considered "dangerous unseeded players".

All other players outside of the 32 seeds are basically hitting practise for the serious contenders.

Krajicek, Bremond and and Dechy may well win a couple of matches and perhaps even prove challenging but they are not "dangerous floaters".

Vesnina will be in ominous form, I know she'll be training hard... she's a work horse. I think we're going to see another Russian assult on the AO. I'm a believer that the Russians are STILL coming.

Samantha Stosur is prolly going to be seeded at #28 thus as a seed she's not a floater.

I don't think Serena is REALLY a floater....wherever she is, she's at least given a 2nd though, if not still feared, despite the past 20 months.

But yeah, Serena, Venus (if she plays) Molik, Rezai, and some others are gonna collect some SERIOUS scalps in Jan. :yeah:
