Shaughnessy is new American #1 now !!!!matthias Dec 14th, 2006, 05:26 PM she is highest ranked American player behind Lindsay!!! disco_rage Dec 14th, 2006, 05:28 PM Way hay! Meghann! Lol! it's hardly a great sign for the No.1 American to be ranked No.37 Good luck in 2007 girl! :worship: Wannabeknowitall Dec 14th, 2006, 05:36 PM Lindsay hinted retirement. Honestly she probably would have retired earlier this year but Mr. Leach coaxed her to get back on the court just to practice. That practice turned into a late summer/early fall record of 13-4. She hasn't asked for her name to be taken off the rankings like Farina Ella did last year. She's still the number one American likely until right after the Australian Open. Meghann is probably thinking of other things. She certainly isn't going to be picked for the Olympics in doubles unless she starts coming through at the slams. It's time for a breakthrough.
