Yes, I think so. I read somewhere that Wozniacki would be going to HK as the "alternate" of sorts. Now that the top players have already drafted their schedules for 2007 and committed to tournaments in January it's probably too late for the HK organizers to sign up another top player.

Aww, I was looking forward to seeing Maria and Lindsay play together. Wow, Maria had a lot of plans with Lindsay, now they're all being cancelled. Lol, regardless, I'm sure Maria understands.

Local papers (HK) report that the organisers are trying to scramble for a top player with no commitments as a replacement for Lindsay.

Caroline's a back-up for an injury that might occur later on when the tournament has already started. Like Serena in 2006 & Maria in 2005.
