I want Sania to play here than Hopman Cup because she has great chance to win some ranking points.

she probably can but will be fined
the thing is the WTA dont recognise the Hopman Cup officially, so its seen as an Exho
pulling out of a tour event to play an "exho" as they see it, you can get fined alot and suspended for a time if they thing its the thing to do.
they might have changed the rules for 2007 though

Yeah, Sania, has said thats she is looking forward to playing in Perth (unless she is confussed of the dates, like a french girl was a couple of years ago, cant remeber her name?????). So she will be at the HHC and guarentee three matchs. What is the price money for this tournment. Hopman Cup total is 1million AU. 250,000 for the winning pair (125,000 each)

Price money for ASB classic $145,000. So Hopman cup is more than 5 times richer than ASB.

But Hopman Cup is in the same category as exhibition tournaments so wont she get a massive fine plus potentially a small suspension for the tour for this?
Dellacqua wont play here - Omg Marina could almost get into the qualies on her own ranking (this hasnt happenned for over 16 years here)

Kiwi teenagers Marina Erakovic and Sacha Jones have been handed main draw wildcards to the 2007 ASB Classic.
Tournament director Richard Palmer confirmed wildcard slots for Erakovic, who is ranked at 161, and Jones on Tuesday and said the other wildcard will also go to a New Zealander.
Leanne Baker, who has risen to a career high singles ranking of 273, is set to be rewarded for her recent good form with the final spot in the main draw.
Canterbury's Ellen Barry is understood to have requested a qualifying wildcard.

Sania has officially withdrawn.
It hasn't pleased tournament director Richard Palmer who says the WTA apparently has an arrangement with Hopman Cup organisers that it took precedence and which Palmer hadn't been told of. Palmer says it highlights an area the WTA needs to take a serious look at.
He says players taking part in exhibitions or non tour events in the same week as WTA sanctioned events is an issue which all tournaments are concerned about and tournaments should take priority.

Was 26 in your list, take out Erakovic, put in 4 WC's gives 29, thats 3 short, then there is the play in, which makes 30, so Szavay and Shengan should get in to make 32, then cancel Baker as she has a WC, leaving Kriz next??

Kriz is still 6 out
only 11 alts left (Leanne Baker is one of them so its 10)
there will be some byes in the Auckland draw for sure unless they give WC's to local players, but its harder to play WTA events for 1st time without alot of processing forms.

With Sacha Jones injured, does that put Schruff in the MD??
They could have swapped who recieved the wildcard at the last minute (like what happenned this year when Vika recieved it shortly after Marina was forced to withdraw) however instead they opted to let Julia Schruff take it as a Gold/Silver exemption from what I understand.
Ellen and Kai are alittle upset (as you could imagine), I just hope that they will be able to get over that and beat their first round opponents (both seeds, a former asb champ for Ellen) tomorrow.
