Australian TV -U.S Shows Via Satellite???

Does anybody know what this actually means?

If I understand correctly it's not live but what does it actually mean? How long after the U.S do we get to watch?

American Music Awards are on now via Satellite (then again foxtel doesn't take that off when it's a repeat)

I think channel ten's advertising that we will see the O.C same time as the U.S, does anybody know if that's true?

How can both countries show it prime time at the same time?

It's not live feed but it come up on Australian TV after few hours or days after the episode aired in the US. At the moment, we have it for The OC and Jericho.
