since Sunny Boy won't change the thread title of the other thread, Meng deserves to have this thread :bounce:

poor iroda but she played great during the last weeks and I hope that she will play the AO

Meng's ranking is now up to 112
she needs just 1 or 2 more wins at the Taipei $75K to qualify directly for AO

Well done Meng. I don't think she gets enough credit for the player she is. I think she's definately the forgotten player of the Chinese players. Granted, her results haven't been that spectacular, and she isn't with the CTA, but she's a fighter and I like that a lot.
It's good stuff from Iroda. If she keeps up this form she should be able to win a round or two at the Australian Open. I'm hoping she Varvara and Akgul (provided she gets there) can all do well at the Aussie.
I think Iroda was injured too, so I'm not sure if she and Akgul will play the doubles final or not.

Iroda  but meng is a fighter out there

Well done Meng.
Yuan was in a shocking slump throughout the middle part of the year which was a shame because she spoilt some opportunities at the slams.
She is certainly a fighter, its increadable, she put a lots of spin on the ball for an asian player, and grinds her opponent down nicely. Really an asian player for the clay IMO... but she likes hardcourts. ;)

her goal for next year is to reach top 70 :bounce:

This is the first thing Meng has won in a looooooong time.

Hopefully Meng will directly qualify for AO
It's so important for her since she is funded by some individual person

Damn, can't Iroda win a title? This was a huge chance :(
I hope she wins a match in Melbourne ;)
