She actualy won they both Fed Cup singles matches in final, and retire in AO final - so... that means she realy lose so far only two matches (of 6 her matches) before tommorow's last seasons final    .

You do know you just pretty much called Justine a pussy. :wavey:
She's weak for not being able to finish something she could have.

Congratulating that kind of behavior doesn't particularly bode well either.

Kim Clijsters will be known as the most popular Belgian tennis player, but when it comes down to respect and awe of results, Henin-Hardenne will be known as one of the greats in the women's game.

Its truly amazing at the depths of which people will go to diminish the accomplishments of the best player on tour this year...Justine Henin-Hardenne.

I recall back in January when people were saying "Justine will never win another Grand Slam title, much less make it to another final." Well, guess what. Justine ended the year at #1.

Justine is the toughest competitor in the WTA. No one has the will or the game to excel like Justine.

You should better appreciate what you are watching...one of the games greatest of this generation putting her stamp on history. Even though it is at the expense of your favs.

I agree, it's just so laughable that she has ONLY won 1 so far. Isn't it just funny? I mean SO MANY players have done better then her. Isn't it so much greater to reach just 1 big final and win it? Isn't losing in SFs, QFs, and 4th rounds simply better then reach the final and THEN lose it?

After all at worst Justine can say that she was the 2nd best player in the world this year, what a loser! :)

Has a better win-loss record than Amelie, has not been bageled yet this year, but Amelie has :o

No, it wasn't directed at you.
But seriously, yes she lost more then won, but would it be so much better if she lost to Jankovic? Then she wouldn't be this close, so it's better?
Or even better - lose in the 4th, that would have given her LOTS of confidence.
Yes, winning is the name of the game, but why losing in the 4th is better then losing in the final? And Venus lost how many times in a row (in slam finals that is)?
Obviously Justine would have loved to win more, didn't happen, should she retire now? Or better - like many are suggesting here - she should be ashamed of that!

Nothing to be ashamed of...I see your point. Reaching all the finals is already an achievement...I guess not losing at all would be even greater?

True about Venus, but didn't notice that she was getting less and less happy for Serena after each loss? That's telling..

Not a Justine fan but there's no denying it certinly is a great record - and winning the YEC and Wimbledon as well.

I don't count the Fed Cup final though. Se earned Belgium the place in the semi finals. But she didn't earn Belgium their place in the finals. Kim and Flipper did that. Justine didn't play. So really I only look at the 4 GS and the YEC. That's an achievement in itself she can be proud of. To me - it sort of cheapens her achievement a bit to include the Fed Cup final in there.

Edit: Ooops I meant winning RG not Wimbledon

In 1986, there was indeed no Australian Open but there were two YEC's: the first was held in March 1986 and marked the end of the 85-6 season and the second was at the end of the year, like now. Navratilova competed in (and won) both, plus the three grand slam finals (winning two) and the Fed Cup in Prague, winning that one as well.
