For me that just edges the Wimbledon final...sheer drama, unbelievable shot-making, amazing courage...it had everything you could ask for.

Fantastic stuff - well done to the Big 4 for making the semis (Amelie, Justine, Kim and Maria) - I hope they all stay fit and healthy and they can butt heads many more times next season...there hasn't been nearly enough this year due to injuries.

I really have no words on the way Amelie played.I`m not her fan at all, but even the biggest hater must admit how incredible she plays. It`s just :eek: . She doesn`t make silly mistakes. She`s patient and consistent. And that net play :eek :eek: .When she was at net I was sure she was going to win the point. Great defense and offense, slice, serve..I think she did everything well today...

Anyway, I wish Justine wins tomorrow. I`m really looking forward to the final. The best players at all this year have reached the YEC final. Both deserve it but the better player will win tomorrow;)

This match showed how womens tennis should be!!

Hard fought match, incredible points from both sides and class throughout the match and at the net.

Although I'm disappointed, I'm also really proud of Kim, after a 2 months lay off to come back this way. This is the best she's played in a long while against a top player like Amélie.

And we get a final between the 2 best players in the world.

oh kim :sad: i'am quite disappointed that she lost but it must of been one hell of a match from what i'm hearing. but this result 4 kim i did not really expect after that 2 month injury layoff so i guess it's not all sour grapes i suppose. ah well kim will get her opportunities next year. gotta stay positive 4 her :)

If Kim retires next year, she will be really missed...she is such a great player! When she is motivated, she is a joy to watch! :drool:

About Mauresmo, I only have to give her huge credit...she is such a mature player now, she mixes everything so well, her net play is by far the better in the circuit and her backhand is looking amazing and her serve is doing great at YEC. And lots of times we can see some agressive play from her, which I was not used to.
She reached her peak late in the career but not too late. She still has time to win some more important titles and the time that she took to reach this level was really worth it. Congrats also to her coach to take her to this level, with no rushing, no pressure and always believing in her.

I agree with you. I really liked the match, even Kim lost :p :) There are were some great rally's. Both were fighting for every point. The end was really exciting. Both were playing good tennis ( only to much UE's from Kim in the first set) and in the end Amelie was better. So, she deserved this win. That's also what Kim said after her match.

I wish Amelie good luck in the final tomorrow... I hope it will be a nice and good final. :)
