2004: enters for the first time to the top ten, first grand slam title Wimbledon, YEC and Birmingham, Seoul, Tokyo [Japan Open].

2005: for the first time she is the world number one, 3 out of four semifinals in grand slams, first tier I title Tokyo Pan Pacific, and Doha, Birmingham.

2006: US Open and Indian Wells, San Diego, Zurich, Linz and 19 victories in a row.

2006 has been the best year so far. 2004 had too many bad losses and 2005 had the consistency missing in 2004 but no major titles to back it up.

2006. Much more consistent than in 2004 and 3 Tier I titles more than make it up for not winning the YEC this year.

2006 without a doubt.

She proved she can play steadily, reaching SF at all slams, and then totally dominated (including slam win) from July to now.

well for me her best year was 2004 is in that year when she gets all the confidence that she has now besides she was more sweet and innocent back then:hearts:

2006- more comfortable with her game and she has grown into it winning a bunch of Tier 1s and the USO.

2006...because she validated everything that she had achieved in 2004 and 2005 and everything that she will achieve in the future...a great champion and she is here to stay :worship: :bounce: :bigclap:

Hopefully 2007 will be even better. I expect nothing less than 2 slams Masha :rocker:  :yeah:

I agree. Definitely 2006. And you said that she reached the SF at all slams but I thought she lost in the 4th Round this year to Safina  :D

2006 for sure! the other two years she did well people found ways to criticize her year, this year there is nothing bad you could possibly say. this is the kind of year that real champions have. 2005 is still good though and in some ways better than 2004 whe she won her other slam. so this year feels like the best of both years combined.

2006 without a doubt. Very consistent at the top with a number of big titles including the US OPEN. She's just gotten so much better as the years have gone on...improved a lot since 2004 when she won Wimbledon.

I look forward to 2007. I really think she'll make next year even better. She even has a legitimate shot at number one again. :)

Plus that. indeed. :nerner:

Now those who called her one slam wonder are expecting her to win several more....or maybe fearing that she'll win more. ;)
