She`s not devastated. She went buying some presents earlier this day. Today`s match doesn`t bother her much(IMO).Now she can relax and...

Her goal today wasn`t to win. She just wanted to enjoy it/play a good match, which I think she did in the first set.
4-4 and BP for Lena :tape:

Anyway, she should be fine..;)

I like Elena.... but she has to do much much much better!!!

Everytime she turns up at the YEC, she seems not to have the desire to compete and to believe that she can beat anyone there.... I mean, you are one of the Top8 players, you have to believe yourself that you deserve to be in that elite group......... But I just can't see the determination and belief in Elena....

True: bet she would shed a couple of $million for a rock-solid first serve though

Big hug for the prettiest girl on the WTA!

On a side note, I thought her serve is looking MUCH better. The ball toss is where it should be, and not so far to the right. And the side arm slice powder puff serve is GONE!!!! I think with some practice of this new service motion her serve will become much more reliable (less DFs) and her 1st serve might develop into a nice weapon. Lena with a reliable serve is a serious contender for a slam! I'm looking forward to her 2007!!!

But as a fan don't you wish she had the stuff to beat all the players she lost to? Just seems like if she went that one extra step to improve that one area that we all know about that she could be THE best player in the world.

i seriously wonder why does Elena rarely show her true form.
She is definitely a much better player then her performance in YEC.

Why can't she play like Tokyo Final more regularly. I always think Elena shows her best form when she plays Hingis ( i guess it is because Hingis was her idol.)

That's the cruel life. I'm sure people like Pratt are also devastated when they first realize that they will never be able to win something big... but noone cares about those lower ranked girls.

I think she's still reeling from the US Open. She REALLY felt like she could win it this year, and that loss clearly hurt the most out of any of the others.

Don't feel sorry for her, she only got herself to blame... if at 25 years old she hasn't realized yet that she needs to dump her mom (hello!!! the woman has almost no tennis knowledge!!!) and hire a real coach, something is really wrong with her :help:

Hearing her Pre match interview lena wasnt to concerned with inning the match, she knew how well Kim was playing and that she herself wasnt in form i think she just wanted to play some good tennis and she played better than in her 1st 2 matches and she looked relaxed through it, good luck in 07 lena :yeah:
