She's already won the group, winning first set today.
Justine Henin-Hardenne has also won her group, so Masha will play Mauresmo

JHH is 2nd on H2H.

Maria will be second as well (also on H2H), if she loses to Kuzzy in three (now she leads one set to none) and Kim loses to ElenaD.

She has to win the final, too or else she will still be behind Justine by a boob.

Head to head counts only if all the other stats are equal. But Justine's win/lost sets record is 5-3 while Amelie's 4-4. So Justine has the edge

I really don't know it anymore.... one person is telling that they look at the number of sets and the other one is telling that they look at the h2h... I really don't know it anymore

You are wrong about that. H2H counts first if TWO players are tied in terms of MATCHES won.

Always believe Eggy over WTA. He may occasionally be wrong but only when WTA arbitrarily changes its own rules midflight.

You're wrong there. That means that she gave her advantage, winning the first against Momo, away and finally lost. ;)

OK, that's it. Maria beats Kuzzy, becomes #1 in her group, plays JHH in the semis for the chance to be YE#1 and win YEC.

ES is telling it again .... if it's between 2 people they look at the h2h .... and than Amelie is in advance..

So Amelie number 1 and Justine number 2

jochem
Nov 10th, 2006, 07:55 PM
Amelie is 2-1 (4-4), Justine 2-1 (5-3) still Amelie is no.1 cause she beat Justine which counts heavier than the set statistics! That's what I heard

So when two players are tied, then H2H is the decider?
And if three players are tied, then number of sets won/lost is the decider?
