world number 1 or Best tennis player?

What do you think is more important to be number 1 from lucky results or to win the big Tournament and become the best player of the year?:confused: :confused:

win the big tournaments definitely. mauresmo is #1 but she is not the best player. its been annoying me that she's been #1 for so much of the year. she may have won 2 grand slams this year, but justine henin-hardenne made the final of each one and had plenty of other great tournaments as well.
