What suckings after the opening win.

I guess Amelie was right that Nadia played "good, not great" in that match.
And the "smart" part went out of the window after that. :tape:

Yes, I was very surprised when I saw the result of the match vs. Martina. Martina wasn't good against Justine, her shots were way worse than the Belgian's. I thought she wouldn't manage to challenge the best, and then she did it against Petrova... I reckon Mauresmo was right. Nadia is not in form and probably won't qualify...

Nadia last to 2 players who each won 5 majors

Nadia is a choker who is not as good as the top players. why are you surprised?

Still, the loss against Hingis was VERY surprising.

Winning against the number 1, being the player in form and then still (probably) not qualifying is not a good sign for a bet that she's gonna win mayors one day.

I'm disappointed that Nadia hasn't done better but it's a good indicator of where she is at the moment.

She's only going to get better so next year she'll be heading for big things at YEC .

Nadia had never won a tournament until Linz, 13 months ago.
She won 5 this year.
She's going in the right direction.

i can't believe it either  :banghead:
that match against Hingis :help: :o

well, she won 5 titles this year, she is in the top5 and things are looking
good for 2007.....

Is Nadia out for sure now? Aren't her and Hingis tied 1-2 if Hingis loses? I thought they would then go to sets lost and games lost... am I wrong here?

She's out now as her set record will be worse than Hingis'.

3-4 is worse than 4-5? Only if you calculate it as a ratio... is that the way they do it?

Ben.

I'm not that surprised that nadia lost 2 martina because anyone in these YEC i believe can create an upset of somesort & this was one of them. well nadia has wasted her chance of reaching the semis after that 1st day win over amelie very convincingly.

Why not? Isn't Justine allowed to kick a little ass now and then?

Hm, that sucks. I'm not sure it makes sense either....

Sure it does. They each would have a -1 differential, but Martina has won more sets.

well, both Martina and Justine are better and more talented players than Nadia, so where's the problem? she doesn't have to beat them...

Yeah, but she also lost more sets.

Actually, Nadia's sets ratio is 3-5, not 3-4 :p

Martina's will be at at worse 4-5, so Nadia is out :o

Nadia lost 2 sets against Justine and 2 against Hingis? Where does the 5th one come from?

Sure it does. They each would have a -1 differential, but Martina has won more sets.
But what if it's the other way round?

Because 4-3 is better than 5-4.

Where is your logic now? :p

Nadia should have won a set today
better still she should have beaten Hingis

Justine's collapse in 2nd set could be crucial now for Hingis, when she was 61 52 up :o

TheBoiledEgg
Nov 9th, 2006, 07:55 PM
Martina is ahead of Nadia whatever....

its % of sets won/loss

Nadia won 3, lost 4
Hingis is at won 4 lost 5

yeah i was thinking the same:lol:, guess hingis will need to have faith in justine, unless she somehow manages to comeback from 2-5 again.

I wish Nadia weren't a TOP PLAYER. I wish some of the other players in my signature would have won 5 titles this year and would be as good as she is. :tape: why are you surprised?

I'm not at all surprised! :tape:
