View Full Version : Do you have your own place or are you at home with your parents?

I have lived in my own place for several years now. I moved up to the city when I was pretty young. My family are great but I just love my own independence and freedom. I currently live in a cosy bungalow complete with big garden with my boyfriend and my gorgeous 2 year old labrador Brisco

I have my own apartment

I don't think I could ever go back to living with the family. I've gotten too used with doing what I want.

I agree, my family is really conserative and I could not live with them. My mom already thinks im the wildest person to ever walk the earth. lol

MirjanaLfan...you're probably old enough to live on your own.

I'm 21, still studying..it's hard to live on your own then. Once you start working it's easier to go and live on your own.

I live wif my parents. Though I sleep at friends houses a lot. hehe

Dec 20th, 2001, 07:23 PM
per4ever that's true but I lived away from home since I was 18! I was a student for 4 years. I'm only just older than you by a couple of years.

Dec 20th, 2001, 07:30 PM
Well, I'm 19 and I live with my parents. That's all.

MirjanaLfan, how did you get the money if you were just 18 years old? You started working so soon or did your parents give you the money?

Oooohhh... so you two hunks live by yourself huh? Lol... j/k! I still live at home... of course, still in high school. Some of my a lil bit older friends asked if I wanted to move out... but I don't think so... I'd just lose all control and party way too much.. I'll wait til my studies settles!

Officially, I still live at home (am registered there) but I do live on my own, in a studio. As a student, I had my own room near campus but like every other student in this country, I went home every weekend. Now I still go home quite often, but not every weekend anymore....and from now on, I have to do my own laundry;-)

Dec 20th, 2001, 07:55 PM
Well, I still live at home. I'm only 15, it wouldn't be normal if I would live alone!

Dec 20th, 2001, 08:01 PM
I still live my parents, but i'm only 16,so i guess that's normal.

I live in an apartment since the first of december, the two years before I lived with a girl. But living alone is much cooler, I think. I didn't like the girl anyways.
Now, I'm a real single.

TOT, at 18 I started my university course and I was able to live away from home because I got a grant and I also got myself a part time job at night working in a bar which payed the rent! Thankfully I don't work in a bar any longer.

Dec 20th, 2001, 08:32 PM
i live with my mum,my dad,my 4 sisters carly, joanne, catherine, deborah and my cat harry.

Dec 20th, 2001, 10:38 PM
I live with 5 others plus a cat, so it gets quite cramped especially in the kitchen at times, plus the cat likes to hop up on the counter and into the bin, so it's caused a few rows in it's time!
It's fun living with others but I think the more people you live with the more complications that can arise. I'm at home in Ireland now for the christmas which is nice to spend time with my family and we live out the country so its nice and quiet for once!

Are you nuts? I split from home at 16--too many people and too many rules. Plus, I knew what I wanted to do with my life anyway, so why wait? Though, it must be a pattern for me, because I live in 6000 square feet now and sometimes I can't stand even to have Ronnie, my husband, around! I need space I guess.

I'm only 15, have absolutely no income. There is no way I'm ever going to find a house to live alone in right now. Maybe when I'm 20

at home when all of us are complete, we're 11 in one househttp://www.duhspot.com/users/smiley/s/kao/otn/blobtongue.gif. but it's not cramped at all since it's a pretty spacious house.

but i'm 17 now and my sister and i live in our place near our university. she used to live alone but now that i'm also in college we share the place. but i guess we're still pretty dependent on our parents cos they were the ones who bought us the condominium, and they pay for the electricity, the water and stuff. we can go home whenever we like, and since i still get homesick i'm usually home on weekendshttp://www.duhspot.com/users/smiley/s/kao/otn/pclapping.gif.

I've been living on my own for 5 years now. I had to leave home at 18, first to go to the army and then to go to uni. I like having my own appartment, but I kinda miss living with my parents. I go home once every 2 weeks, and it's too little for me. I miss my parents, sister and brother. I miss my dog too.

Williams_Rulez, you are only 15? I'm very impressed:) , you always sound so mature, I thought you were older.

I have my own place. If I live with my parents, then I would have to fly 6-7 hours on a plane to and from school everyday.

I live on my own in my depressing apartment. Too many other expenses have taken away money that I needed to buy furniture. Anyone want to buy me a couch? ;)

Double Fault
Apr 28th, 2002, 11:42 PM
Steam, I've got an old couch for you, but any money you find down the back of it is mine, ok? :)

I left home when I was 18. It was great in the beginning, but as time passed it became a grind (paying bills, paying for repairs etc) Once I left it would have been difficult to return. I'd love to return to the family home now, but it doesn't exist anymore. So, I'm stuck in the big bad cold world with no place to return to when times get hard. (I'll get the violins out in a minute) :)

I've been living on my own since I was 19. I even got up and moved to boston, where I knew only 2 people. I've enjoyed the freedom to the fullest.

Apr 29th, 2002, 01:04 AM
I was living away from home in my first two and a hald years of Uni, but I moved back in with my Dad since then because I went part-time at Uni, and had a job in the town where I live! :D I still live with my Dad, but it's no problem, coz I have my freedon anyway (plus it's good coz he makes me dinner usually! lmao).

Ahhhh...to relive the days of when Mom took care of everything. I didn't have a care in the world...except depleting my Mom of funds for the charity known as 'Me, Myself and I Inc'. Those were the days.

I live in a house...Would seriously contemplate suicide if I were still living with my mother and father.
