View Full Version : I just WON one of Navratilova's rackets from her last match EVER!!

I went to a charity benefit dinner last night in NYC and one of the prizes they were raffling was a package for two courtside US Open seats to a session of your choice (not the final weekend though) and a SIGNED Navratilova racquet that she used in the mixed finals this year, her last match ever.

Guess who won?!? :)

I was actually tempted to peel off the grip that she autographed it with and use the racket myself, but I think I'll frame it and put it on the wall at home.

Just out of curiousity (and there is no way I would do it because I have far too much respect for the woman), how much would the racket go for if I were to sell it on Ebay or something like that?

Still totally giddy about this!!

Wow. Now that's a prize to treasure!

I'd imagine if you could back it up with proof, it could go for a pretty penny on ebay. Glad to know you're hanging on to it though.

You probably should get a value, so you know what it is worth. There are specialists in sports memorabilia that can give you a value.

And hold onto it until you have something permanent - maybe a house downpayment - to use the money for.

Congratulations!

So, we'll be seeing this on e-bay by the end of the week, right?

We actually won't:p Martina really is one of my tennis idols. It's not going up for sale. Unless I really, really, really need to pay rent and it's the only option short of prostitution.

I'm just curious because I have the authenticity documentation to prove it is legit. They never gave me an estimated value of how much the racket was worth when they gave it to me, so I have no idea myself.

Just the fact that the racquet is a Bosworth racquet customized to client's demand would cost you more than your $300 racquet, and add that with the fact that it was one of Martina's racuqet used, it could worth much more!

I would guess it would sell for a couple thousand dollars, to a tennis memorabilia collector. Like I said, you should get an appraisal. I think you can do it online.

Do NOT sell it to pay rent or ordinary expenses! You will regret it. Only for something that is an investment in your future. (IMO.)

Okay, let me know when your next rent check is due cuz I wouldn't mind bidding on it! :)

are you a gay male or a straight female? I might be willing to make you an offer if it's the second one. :p

btw, Cory Ann Avants is retiring, and it's time for you to change your nick again. I remember you used to be AllisonBradshaw#1 until Bradshaw sucked her way into retirement.

CoryAnn is a guy, and that racket'll be on e-bay faster than you can say "crystal meth addictions make it hard to pay rent on time".

Sell it now, hon. When she plays again next year, it will fall in value.
