Heidi El Tabakh now plays for Canada?tenn_ace Oct 29th, 2006, 07:07 PM Or is there a typo in the quali draw of Bell Challenge? Tomek. Oct 29th, 2006, 07:08 PM no, she plays for Canada ;) tenn_ace Oct 29th, 2006, 07:11 PM used to be Egypt... afak Joana Oct 29th, 2006, 07:14 PM She's been playing for Canada for quite a while now. tenn_ace Oct 29th, 2006, 07:24 PM thanks. last time I have heard of her is when she played in juniors. she played for EWgypt at that time. She hasn't done much in pros, so haven't seen her results/country represented. By the way, I think as late as last spring she represented Egypt (got a WC into Dubai), which means she changed her nationality not that long ago ;) ~CANUCK~ Oct 29th, 2006, 07:27 PM well she played the bell challenge as a canadian last year also. Its been at least 2 years. myxomatosis Oct 29th, 2006, 07:29 PM Yes we exchanged Beier Ko for Heidi  ;) Randy H Oct 29th, 2006, 08:33 PM Heidi played last year's Canadian Open under Canadian nationality too, I think she has family connection in the Toronto area although I'm not 100% sure on that. She's got a decent game, nice power baseline shots and serve, but mentally just isn't there anywhere near a consistent basis. She needs to play it a bit safer with her shot selection, a more positive attitude on court and I think she could improve her movement too. Potential is there to go quite a bit higher in the rankings, but she's got work to do if she wants to get there. | |
