Maria is still the youngest one in the top 8 since her Wimbledon win in 2004, that's pretty amazing. :)

Actually Sesil is born August 8, 1989
Nicole April 23, 1989

So Sesil is almost 4 months younger ;)
But it doesnt matter because she was banned
She would have at the least been top 20 IMO

thats just your opinion ;) , I think she would have been higher around 15-20, but that doesnt matter anymore as she is a druggie  :o .

I really don't think she would be at 15 by now...she struggled alot with the top players.

Yeah you are right she was really struggling with the top players, but she was beating everyone else and she was only 15 at the time and still got as high as number 35.
She was just coming into her own. IMO
She would have gotten a lot of points from the clay court season and had another great performance at Roland Garros.
I think she wouldnt have been around the 15-20 range.

But that doesnt matter anymore, its not important its non-existant what is the point of saying what she would have been, when she was banned for drugs. She did what she did and they caught her for it and now all those expectations are ruined.
Hopefully in another year or so she will be back strong, but there is no point in even thinking about that as there is a long time to go.

Fine mostly everyone else :tape: , and towards the end there she was slumping a bit, but most of her loses came to top players or seasoned veterans. I know a lot of people didnt like the girl but come on we have to agree she was talented. And unlike a lot of her fellow younger players, she was playing in mostly tier 1 and tier 2 tournaments. (She got trashed by all the top players there at the end, her results were  but who knows what was happening there with all those drugs+baby :o )

Anyway her friend Nicole Vaidisova has done a lot better for herself , so Congrads to her.

Well, you were the one who brought up that you thought she'd be top 15 - I was just saying I don't think she would have. I think she would have been top 30, coz as you say, she was already at 35, but I think top 15 would be too high for her right now (if she was still playing). I used to follow Sesil, coz I like to see the younger players doing well, and it's a pity she was doing drugs...

yeah, but it's hard for the girls under the AER too - obviously they can't play that many tourneys, and so it's harder to pick up so many points...But Sesil was doing OK for her age...

No definately, I am the one who brought that up, but not top 15, 15-25 range, but its just my opinion. I also like seeing the younger players doing well and its a pity what happened to Sesil, she was a talented girl.
