I'm not surprised, the girl has played a hell of a lot of tennis this year. She must be desperate for a rest and I hope she comes back strong for the YEC!

Amelie

Hopefully, it's not too serious and she's talking precautions more than anything. A rest will probably do her good, too.

poor amelie i hope its nothing too serious although this is good news to any maria fans as the less amelie plays the less points maria will have to catch up on if she is to become world number 1 by the end of the year, although she has achieved in merit over the summer i think. anyway get well soon momo!

That's not great news 2 hear bout mauresmo. hope she recovers from the injury soon & plays great tennis again. she had a great chance here in stuttgart 2 increase her pts lead over henin-hardenne & sharapova 4 the no.1 ranking. gonna be a bit difficult 4 her now 2 hold on2 it.

if stosur won over krajicek, well she would of have had an opportunity 2 make some noise in stuttgart. ah well.

too bad... now Amelie, Justine, Kim are with injuries...
Luckily Maria hasn't been playing during this time... it's a curse or something...

Oh well will the Russian Revolution rise up and take advantage again? With those three not at top form you gotta seriously think Kremlin Cup or Zurich will fall to the Russians

Myskina is out too and Dementieva is looking tired too. I think Sveta needs to be careful too for playing too much. Pierce, Davenport and Williams sisters are big question marks. Chanda Rubin cannot seem to come back. Patty seems to be playing too much too. Does it leave it really wide open for Sharapova and Hingis?

not to be rude or anything, but why is it whenether Henin is injured, Mauresmo is injured, and vice-versa? Or is it just a coincidence?

Get well soon Amelie!!! :wavey:

I honestly don't understand how a tournament starts on Monday and on Thursday/Friday the top seed pulls out without having played a match. I guess this is what makes it so hard to predict a winner.

A question: Since Mauresmo didn't play a match, but in the draw, she's in second round. So, in the ranking points, does she get the points for reaching 2nd round? or does it count as she was never there??
