They seem to have a roof on the central court.. since all the other courts are currently in rain delay, and this match wasn't interrupted.

Hmm. It's weird how most Japanese players these days can't find their feet in a home tournament. Akiko's consistent, and the score indicates she had her chances, but given how weak the field is, it would've given her a good opportunity to move far.

Fedossova is really nothing special, I also dont understand how Akiko could lose to her in Japan :eek: :o Shes not that bad...i mean she beat Anabel at the us open and almost beat kanepi in a third set 5-7 :sad: these two wins give her some cofidence because after her loss at us open it effected her play alot

and she's still very young, she can progress.
Youlia will be in top 100 in few months.
and she loves Tokyo, firts good wins here two years ago (quarters at 16 )

I'm not surprised Akiko is really nothing special ;)
